Hi,

I did not see a thread for the local office here so I started one.

From what I heard the average waiting time for an interview to be scheduled is 13 - 14 months in this office.

Note that I do not intend to complain. Given their work-load (cases from 3.5 states - MN, ND, SD and some counties in WI) and the office relocation this year, the delay is expected.

Just wanna know if there is any other filers here so that we stay together and keep everyone update about the current situation.

The processing time on USCIS website for this office is (for Sep 30, 2017)

I-485 - July 16, 2016

Cheers everyone!

Slowest USCIS office in the continental US. I don't see how their workload is that heavy:

Population served by Minneapolis/St. Paul office: approx 7 million. Offices moved in April 2016. Processing time of Minneapolis/St. Paul office for I485 (Sep 30, 2017): July 16, 2016.

IL population: 13 million. There's only one USCIS office in IL (Chicago). Processing time of Chicago office for I485 (Sep 30, 2017): Dec 21, 2016. The Chicago office probably handles more paperwork (based on overall population and immigrant population), and is faster than Mn/StP.

Hurricane Harvey flooded Houston in late August. Processing time of Houston office for I485 (Sep 30, 2017): Sep 22, 2016. The Houston office  was interrupted by a major natural disaster, and is faster than Mn/StP.

Hoping someone could help me out here. So my local office is Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN and it appears they are processing cases from 31st July 2016. My current status is 'Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview' as of June 13, 2017. What I am worried about is will I have to file for a combo card extension/renewal? My combo card expires on May 15th 2018. Does does that come with more costs? Also wondering if my case will be waived, but I guess not if it says it's ready to be scheduled for an interview? One other thing, will I have to redo a medical since it's been over a year now or give more information towards that since it's been over a year now? Thanks!

From what I know, you will HAVE TO get extension for combo card because our local office is moving slow. That should be free. However, redoing the medical will cost extra, and that is why our attorney suggest us not to do it until we get an interview scheduled. Do you come with K1 or other visa types? K1 would be a little bit faster but still like 11 months wait
