i think many of us have differing views on what constitutes an officer 'acting badly'

Its easy to sit in a comfy chair and be a backseat driver. I don't agree that this was murder or that the cop should go to jail. I do agree that this cop should never work as a cop again or any other type of job that he would be allowed to carry a gun. This cop does not have what it takes to be a cop. He is so fearful of getting shot that he is unable to think clearly when he is under stress. He is unable to assess the situation properly and he cannot read body language. No matter how much training he receives….he will always be a "choke artist" when under stress.

Taking into account what he had as a "signature", yeah defenitly a murderer. Just was waiting for the right person at the right moment.

You might be confusing being a hot head with masculinity.  Law enforcement does attract masculine people, whether they be male or female.

You claimed that the nature of law enforcement seems to draw hot heads.  That isn't true and you have nothing to back it up with.  I'm glad you understand the difference.

 

You posted a link that shows raw statistics of law enforcement shootings while implying that it showed that officers are acting badly.  It doesn't do that.  You could have posted a link showing police shootings that have been classified as bad shootings, but you chose not to do that.   

 

My claim that only a small percent of police officers act badly is backed up daily throughout the country.  You just don't want to believe it.

no, i didn't imply that. i questioned what 'behaving badly' means. i could have posted a link that fell in line with your post, but i didn't agree with that post. so.. that's why i didn't post the link you wanted.

It depends on the department. Some LE academies are up to a year long. 

 

You lack credibility if you are talking about police brutality and then post a link showing the total number of police shootings without extrapolating the percent that were considered justifiable - which is the vast majority of them.  Justified police shootings are not police brutality unless you believe police shouldn't have the right and ability to defend themselves and others.
