Hi Everyone! I am sure everyone has ran into the same questions over and over.. I filed a 129F recently and per USPS tracking, it was delivered yesterday at 6:22 AM and USCIS has not yet emailed me or texted me a case number or the check has not been deposited... how long should I wait before I hear from them? I did attach the form so that they can text you!

No sweat, cashing can take awhile..from couple days untill a month. Same with text messages.

 

Our check got cashed like three/ four weeks after we send everything and text messages didn't arrive until couple weeks later.

 USCIS gets hundreds of thousands of applications per year. They can't open every package as soon as they get it. It'll take a few days at least.

DCF Mexico

06/04/2017: Married

06/27/2017: NOA1 (technically a RFE as we were missing beneficiary ID)

07/06/2017: NOA2

07/12/2017: Case assigned by Juarez embassy

07/17/2017: Packet 3 received

08/15/2017: Interview/Approval!

08/22/2017: Visa received via DHL

09/03/2017: POE

09/16/2017: Permanent Resident Card received

 

Total days from NOA1 to approval: 49

OP, Congrats on starting the process, now this is the beginning of the hurry up and wait process. It can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks like Beachlover said. Right now it looks like its taking a week or two on average but they do them in batches so it may be shorter or longer just depending.

 

One thing I would definitely suggest doing is to look into the next steps in the process and familiarize yourself with what comes next and do your research on here to see what you will need to gather for the next steps and costs, etc...

 

Also, try not to stress about it (I know this is very difficult not to do but try ;)) and keep yourselves occupied with other things to keep from going insane with this process.

Your point is valid but it is actually in the more than a million applications

From what I've read, that information can also be had on the back of the check. 

 

Yeah, we know the angst of "where do we stand" but the time from NOA1 to NOA2 is literally months.  And you may not get a text / email when you hit NOA2.  Ours was in the 190+ day (without any RFEs either!) range.

 

You did sign up for the email / text alerts, right?  We got those before being able to see the check clear, and that did contain the WAC.
