I'm not sure I would file a "3 weeks change of address"... If it was for a longer time, than yes, would definitely do that.  But in your circumstances  i would probably wait till moving to your new permanent place.  But a choice is yours :)

The only thing -  I would notify my local Post Office about this short address change . Just to be safe. There is some paperwork needs to be done with them and in this case if something arrives at your old address, it will be directed by Post Office to your new address. The same thing I would advice to do AFTER moving to your new permanent place.

This is just from our experience - despite the fact we filed ALL required "address change" forms and got ALL confirmations, USCIS still kept sending their Notices and even my EAD to our old address.. Everything finally found me, but just because we filed that paperwork with our Post Office. And there are a lot of VJ folks, who have experienced the same "trouble" after moving to a new place.

There is always a "human factor" ;), so things like that can happen to anyone at any time...even if before everything went smooth...

Since your are at the ROC stage, I believe you got your conditional green card through marriage, right?.. There is no timeline, so it's hard to tell what visa you adjusted from ;)But anyway, your husband had to file Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, for you to be able to get your 2 years green card. So, he is a Sponsor and must submit change of address along with an immigrant he sponsored. You :)

Here is the I-865, Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address Instruction.

Good luck!!

Thanks a lot. I will notify them once I move to my permanent place then. It makes much more sense. I have already redirected all my mail to the temporary place so if anything is sent then I should get it. Thanks :)

We didn't do it until months after we moved. Honestly we just forgot about it. Didn't remember until my wife had to send in her ROC packet last August. Did the address change a couple weeks before that. So far, we haven't had any problems... (knock on wood)

I wouldn't think so...

Just imagine - you submit your change of address. Your hubby  - doesn't. Would USCIS "think" this is just you who moved?.. We don't know for sure, bit it's possible.

Or - he files that along with you.  And then in 2-3 weeks you submit another change of your address.. Your hubby does it as well... He, most likely , won't even  get the confirmation for "first' one by that time in case if he submitted "3 weeks change"...

Being in this "journey" for almost 4 year (since 2013) I've learnt - the less you confuse USCIS, the less they get confused ;):)

Did they sent you a notice in  the mail when you change your address? I think thats probably what they had sent me

No, I received a confirmation number when I electronically submitted the address change and printed that out.
