That is quick - I applied for expedited on September 13 and was told up to 3 months.

Please keep us posted as I have similar timeline.

Hi Duncan,

Did you apply expedited, what are the first two digits of the locator number?

Mine is (68) for New Hampshire, I need my passport urgently due to upcoming travel mid-October. I also reached out to my congressman his office for escelation.

I did apply as expedited and selected the 2-day delivery.  My locator number starts with 79, which I believe is Houston.

I-130 (for parents of US Citizens):

8/19/2022: NOA (IOE0917XXXXXX); Texas Service Center

7/22/2023: Both (parents) petitions approved

7/27/2023: Both cases sent to NVC

8/8/2023: Received NVC welcome email for both parents

Does the Newark office still do same day oath ceremonies? My husband has his interview at the end of next month, and we are planning to take a trip shortly after his interview, so wondering if he can take the same day oath. if not, how far do they schedule the oath ceremony?

Yes they do, I had a same-day oath this September in Newark.

Just be aware once a citizen you need to have a US passport to travel, they will take the greencard during your interview if oath is the same day.

The estimated time is not really accurate in my experience, I had my interview last month and it still had estimated completion time of 11 or so months.

If you applied in January and already naturalized that's fast, but also very dependend on the office handling your case.

For Context I applied in May 2020 .

From the forum, it appears that there is a general delay for people who applied in March/April and May of 2020.

@NJGuy when did you apply ?

Also - I tried getting my local congress office involved and they received the standard 'within processing times' excuse. Trying to figure out when would it be appropriate to engage a lawyer into this.

I applied in September 2020, and my interview/oath was in September 2021. It took almost a full year.
