You will get interview notice in a week, good Luck.

Depends on office I guess. Newark is handling Jan -Mar 2020 cases and Mount Laurel is April-June 2020 cases currently.

Folks,

My family (3 members) had our N400 interview appointments at Mt Laurel (1:30PM & 2:30PM for 2 of us) and all of us were taken in individually and separate. We certainly went in early and they allowed us to enter the building earlier (the 15 minutes before did not get practiced) as we entered 30 minutes before the scheduled time. As we got processed after security screening, we all had to wear masks and were called in by the officer as soon as our processing was complete. We did not have to wait long (5 mins max) before being called in.  We did see some dependents to wait in the waiting area.

The interview was very brisk. For 2 of us after oath, it was direct to civics and there after yes/no and then approved, within 10 to 15 mins and one of us went through a very detailed scrutiny and lasted 30 minutes. Two of us had a more detailed scrutiny of our birth certificates. For 2 of us the citations, though we mentioned "No" in all our applications, we made it a point to inform the officer that "No in the past five years, but we had one in". To this the 2 officers did not consider it significant, and said that thank you for letting me know and being honest about it, but one officer did go through and it and asked for evidence that it was resolved and no fines were outstanding. On 2 of our birth certificates, they were explicitly specific about spelling difference and even initials.

Of the 3 officers (all ladies), 2 officers were very kind hearted, pleasant, considerate (to your comfort) and understanding, while one was a bit of a stricter type. We got our Oath Ceremonies done and were out of the facility by 3:30 PM. One of us had a 1:30 appointment for interview and Oath completed by the time we two went in at 2PM and was allowed to stay inside until 2 of us got done.

I asked about the Mask policy and they have agreed to continue requesting for folks to wear their masks and will inquire about any trips or contacts with covid 19 persons, before 2 weeks trip (international). It's BAU (business as usual there), hence take this into consideration.

At the Oath ceremony the Director of the center, stated that Mt Laurel Office is taking on interview load from Newark to ensure quicker processing and back log clearing. Hence please do not be surprised, if your interview is set at Mt Laurel, even when you are closer to Newark as is the same with us. We had to drive (1 hour) 49 miles south to get there, when Newark was only 30 minutes away.

Overall experience at Mt Laurel was extremely pleasant and folks there made every effort to make us feel comfortable. As they are fully aware that most of us coming for N400 interviews will have their stress levels at the highest. Hope this is helpful.

Our filing date is June 22, 2020. Finger Printing all at the same day at Elizabeth ASC on Sep 25, notified of interview on May 3rd for all 3 of us. In a nut shell, our 3 member family had the 5 year N400 processing together. We filed Online, exactly on the day we became eligible to file. Today, we applied for US Passports at the USPS. We had booked appointment as soon we came to know of the Interview date on the next day of the interview and when appointments were available on USPS site.

Thanks AAR for your experience.  It give us hope that Newark is processing even June 2020 cases  and pushing many cases to mt. laurel.
