Hi all! Nov 2019 applicant here. Happy to report that I got my citizenship today :)  Interview and oath same day. Office:Newark

Congrats!

Feb. 16, 2020 filer here... My interview is scheduled for Apr. 29, 2021 at 10:30am.

I have some questions for you:

1.  What time was your interview?

2.  How did it go? Was it fast? Did the Case Officer ask you a lot of questions? Was he/she friendly?

3.  How long did you have to wait once the interview was over for the Oath ceremony?

4.  I know for the interview that you are not allowed to be accompanied, but how about for the Oath ceremony? Can a family member attend?

Thanks!

Sure thing! The appointment was at 7am. I think I waited about 2-ish hours for the ceremony. My interview took about 10-15 min max. It was very straightforward, civics test (answered all 6 questions correctly) and then moved on to the yes/no questions in the application. The officer and all the staff I encountered were very professional and kind. The oath ceremony was super short and no guests were allowed inside the hall. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much CelineDB for the info.

Were you allowed to read stuff on your phone (not taking calls of course), or are cell phones removed at the building entrance?

If so, should I take a book with me?

Not sure what the rule is, but most people were either texting or reading stuff on their phones, so it seems to be fine as long as the phone is on silent. Photography is not allowed (until you get to the oath where you will be given a chance to take a picture next to the flag at the end of the ceremony).

Hi all! Does anyone know if Tax transcript is absolutely required during the interview? My interview is tomorrow and I didn't know we had to get certified transcript from IRS. And I cant get it online. Does any with recent interview experience in Newark please let me know if they were asked for tax transcript? Thank you

I did bring 5 years worth of tax returns but the officer did not ask to see them.

No updates. Are you willing to share your Timeline?... if everyone was doing it for the group benefit,  we would have had abundance of data/updates.
