Congrats! Are you under 3 yr rule or 5 yr?

Thanks! Fingers crossed. Waiting to get the interview notice posted so I know the date.

I filed/applied under the 5-yr rule. My friend applied under the 3-yr rule.

Things are definitely moving at the Newark Field Office...

A friend of mine who filed for his N-400 on January 20, 2020 got notified that on March 8, 2021, an interview was scheduled. He still hasn't received by mail the notice letter yet, but in the Documents section, the online PDF was posted and his interview is April 20, 2021.

I filed on February 16, 2020, and when checking my case online, just saw that I was scheduled for an interview too as of today March 12, 2021. I will have to wait for 24-hrs/48-hrs for the online notice to be posted, but following the trend, I will likely be interviewed on April 24...

Those two are good data points because it shows that two cases filed one month apart have notifications of interviews scheduled only 4 days apart, with the actual interviews taking place also presumably (I will update as soon as I know) 4 days apart. It shows therefore that the Newark Field Office is accelerating the processing of their backlog, since the pace at which they process is higher than the pace at which the cases are filed. If the two paces were the same, I would have expected to be scheduled a month after my friend was scheduled.

The interview notice just got posted in the Documents section: it will be on Thursday April 29 at 10:30am.

Congratulations! Yes, with an interview at this time you should get same day oath.

I personally don’t anticipate same-day approval. My file with USCIS is extensive, and so is my travel history. It was extensive before I filed, and I’ll have to add 3 trips, 3 continents, 8 countries to the list during interview so I’m almost certain that they’ll want to review some more 😑😩

You should not be so pessimistic... I have an extensive list of travel over the past 5 years, but everything is well documented... I kept a file in Excel with all my travel since I became a LPR, with a special tab that is the output ready-to-be-printed for the interview. 😃

Hehe yes I have a similar setup, just that the trips were longer.

I’m not too worried about it, more trying to be realistic.

I would not be too concerned if you meet all the requirements. I had an extensive travel history as well, out of the country 40% of the time on 10-20 day trips at a time. The officer I interviewed with didn't even ask about it. Rather, he pointed it out because he knew my employer company and understood what I do for a living and was saying how getting US citizenship means I can travel easier abroad with US passport.

🚩 Filed under 3 yrs rule, still married, but I felt bad after changing my last name to my husband because my dad never 👎🏽 liked that idea and he is dead.

now I would love to take back my maiden name, but how is it going to affect my n400 approval?

Someone said it might be a red flag 🚩, especially because we don’t have kids yet.

please help.

this thing is eating me up.
Thanks 🙏🏽

IMO - The only thing you should be worried about is that this might add additional time to your case.

when they call you for interview they've already had decision to naturalize you.

How long after bio reuse you get an interview date?

Doesn’t go by bio reuse it goes by filing date. January 2020 filers and some February 2020 filers were scheduled last week
