My Sister filed for N400 online on April 2nd, 2018 and already got her dates for Interview. This is fast. Her field office is Mt. Laurel.

I did the same in Nov 2017 and still waiting for interview date. Mine is SFO Field Office. Oh boy... Long wait.

@vkrishn what's her interview date?

My estimated completion date changed today from July 2019 to May 2019.  So seems like they are speeding things up a bit.  I am Mr Laurel too.  When is her interview?  I filed mid-June and had biometrics today.  Would be nice to get this all done this year!

I passed my N400 Interview on June 27th in Newark, NJ. Wanted to share my experience and also wanted to see if anyone else is in the same boat as me. I had filed for I751 January 2017 and concurrently filed N400 in November 2017. ROC has been pending for the last 1 year and 4 months. In March I had a service request for I751 and received response that both N400 and I751 would be adjudicated the same time. I received transfer notice on May 7th for my ROC that it was now been processed at National Benefits Center.

Since both cases were to be adjudicated the same time I had brought my husband with me to the interview.

At the N400 interview, the IO said no one in Newark had the authority to adjudicate I751 and even if I did pass she cannot approve my N400.

I did pass the test , she made me sign all forms on her iPad and the Oath of Allegiance . I also had requested to change my last name as they had my husbands first name as my last name. She gave me a letter with boxes checked for test passed - decision cannot be made.

She also asked for my 3 years tax returns. Thank god I had made copies and also taken the originals .This officer was not very friendly so I was hesitant to ask her any questions.

She said she will send the I751 file to the officers that can approve it and I may be called for an interview again and I will need to bring my spouse at that time. I asked her how many days it may take she said she does not know that kind of information .

I called USCIS number today and was transferred to a tier 2 officer and he said my file was in Waiting. I probed further but he said thats all he could see on his screen. told me I should submit a service request online which I did. estimated time of response is July 20.

Does anyone have similar experience or knows of such cases like mine? I'm frustrated and feel I made a big mistake filing N400 with I751 pending.

OMG I’m in the same situation and have my N400 interview on July 11.. let me just say, reading your post I feel like I lost all the happiness I was feeling about Newark getting my appointment so soon.. they transferred my ROC i751 case to NBC and shortly after they send me an interviews notice for N400.. I was really hoping they would adjudicate both together :/

Dont lose hope , deep down i believe my IO was not very knowledgeable and she wasnt very helpful. Yes she did say that None of the Newark IOs have the authority to adjudicate i751 but then she completely contradicted herself when she said that the officers who adjudicate i751 cases were on the ground floor in the same building and she will send my file to them. Anyway im hoping you dont get officer V Rodriguez and you get both cases approved the same day.

Please take every document with you and make copies

marriage Certificate

3 years tax returns

bank statements

passport

state id

Keep me posted  and Good Luck

Hello,

I'm new in this forum and I am experiencing same situation as many of you guys....  I filed my I751 ROC back in July 3, 2017 and still no answer on my case after the biometrics in July 30, 2017.... After reading all your useful postings, I decided to file the N400 on June 19, 2018 and my biometrics are scheduled for July 13... But I have a question cuz so far my N400 case is at the NBC and not sure when you get the confirmation on where is your case being handled (Newark or Mt Laurel)... I hope that both my I751 and N400 interviews are adjudicated the same day cuz this has been like waiting forever since I filed the I751 last year.

Thanks for all your help

hi... after you get the fingerprints done (you can walk in anytime before july 13 if you want to) it's gonna take between 8 and 14 months to get your appointment (yes I751 and N400 together) at the same office you went for your  AOS interview

Thank you Viajero!

The problem is that I have not had any AOS interview so this is why I don't know what field office is going to be handling my cases.... I guess I should wait till I receive any notification from USCIS, non?

Hey NJ Troop, ok so my interview was at 10:45 but I was called in at 12:50 ..

THANK GOD the officer had my i751 file in front of him and he told me good thing I brought my wife and baby with me because he will need them.

My N400 interview letter mentioned nothing about i751 or combo interview and since @Wilkintina's officer did not have a clue about adjudicating i751 together with N400 I had my doubts on whether I would get a combo interview. But I feel like the NBC combined everything into one ELIS file and send them both together. He had one HUGE brown envelope on one side I saw a HUMONGOUS stack of papers with  WAC-XXXXXXXX sticker on the top of the stack which was my i751 case number and on the other side there was a small stack of papers which I assume was for my N400 lol.

He took a lot (and I mean a lot) of time updating my address, adding the baby information because she wasn't born when I applied for i751 etc etc.

After that he asked me the classic n400 eligibility questions like if i served in the military if i sold drugs etc.

Then for the civics test here's what I remember:

1) Which group of people was brought to the US to be solved as slaves?

2) Who makes laws?

3) Which is the highest court in the country?

4) Who is the vice president?

5) Why did the colonists fight the british?

6) How many amendments does the Constitution have?

He then moved on and asked me for my 2017 tax return transcript and any new documents I brought with me for the i751 ! Notice that my interview letter mentioned nothing for the i751 removal of conditions application so thank god i took a lot of documents with me such as baby's birth certificate, lease contracts with mine and my wife's name on them, health insurance card which had mine, my wife's and the baby's name etc. He also said that he won't have to call my wife in because he has faith in the marriage due to the baby born inside the marriage and also the documents that were already there.

At the end he said that because the i751 is not in electronic format he will need to do some other things to approve it so it won't happen today but I shouldn't worry because 1) there are no oath ceremonies in the afternoon at Newark so I wouldn't have taken the oath today anyways and 2) everything is perfect so he just needs to process the approval and I will get a letter for the oath very soon.

All in all,  glad I know both applications are in his hands and he will be approving both himself :) No waiting for him to put everything in the system so that I can get that oath letter.

At the end he joked that it took him so long to put everything in his computer that my wife might think that I'm being detained.. On the way out he said I just need to see your wife and baby and say hi, i don't need to ask them anything and you are all good to go.

He selected a decision cannot he made but he made it very clear to me that everything is perfect and he will be approving both applications. He just said that because the I751 is not electronic like the N400 there some things he needs to do to process the approval and it’s not instant like the N400. Once that’s done he said he will send me an oath letter to come back and I should be expecting that very very soon..
