i am a US citizen that petitioned for my husband. we went to the interview on DEC 4 and he got approved. they kept the passport. i was wondering how long does it take to get the passport back?  today its been 8 days after interview. i checked the CEAC website and it only says ready and the track passport website says no status update available for passport number submitted. i am worried

I am in the same situation. 14 days since interview. CEAC website still says ready for interview, and passport tracking says passport number not valid.
I talked to the Stockholm embassy through e-mail(seems to be the only way to get any information). They tolled me that my passport is in the final processing stage and that I should not worry about the CEAC tracker saying ready.

So I can't really answer your question, but I hope you feel better knowing your not alone.

What Embassy is your petition being handled by?

Some embassies are good about updating the CEAC site

some are poor

ours said "ready for interview "   up till a year after he arrived

but 2 weeks to process the visa packet is normal

My wife went on the Nov 29th in Juarez Chihuahua Mexico. We are still waiting. They are just slow or they forget some cases. We went to ask and everythinf us fine they just have not issued her the visa yet. I guess all we have to do is be patient.
