Again I wish to mention - you DO NOT need parental consent.  Your mother can fully disapprove, as long as she is aware.  Make sure you don't prep her too much!  For example if she says things like he only married the girl for US residency and stuff like that it could be a problem possibly.  So manage her well if you do get married or file for K1 eventually, you could use reverse psychology and say something like "please tell them you approve" - so the worst she will do is say she doesn't approve.  Don't even hint what could be a problem as she may then say that on purpose.

As for your mum, she is not wrong to be disappointed they probably spent a lot on your education, getting you into medical college.  You fooled around and messed it up.  She does think her son only thinks of girls and having fun etc...  Win her trust slowly and steadily, do the right things careerwise and do firmly explain that its your life and some decisions you only seek her 'blessings' and not approval.

Wow that sounds insane. I don't mind them calling my mom but she is about 90% sure to disapprove of us being together. I don't think it is right to hide your significant other from your mom but I understand why the embassy does it. A lot of people try to get into secret marriages and relationships to get out of India.

From personal experience - my hubby (or his parents) has not received a call from the New Delhi Embassy let alone anyone regarding our marriage. He did have someone come to his house after he applied for his PCC.

His parents disapproval (nor 5 other huge red flags we had)  did not hinder our CR-1. We stuck to the truth all the way throughout the process (from application to the interview). Take your time and take a deep breath... ☺️

Please do not freak out by what you read here. Everyone has a slightly different case or story and yours might not be the same.

Just replied to your pm, let me know if you have any other questions.
