Hello!

My fiance plans to send in the application for the K1 visa (packet 1) in late December of 2018, around my birthday. Til then, we're compiling the documents for the necessary application. However, I do have some questions on the type of documents that I will be submitting as well as the way that my name will be marked.

The first issue is that in one legal government conjecture, I have four names. My name goes as this: First name, Middle name, My father's first name, and then my father's middle name. How on Earth should my petitioner record my name down in the forms? I don't have a traditional 'last name', I usually just go by my first name and my father's middle name as a last name to simplify things. However, I am really not sure how this should be put down in the American-style format of first, middle and last name. Some help here please?

The second issue is that my original birth certificate from my birth year does not reflect my current name, as I had a deed poll to change my name when I was about 1/2 years old. However, I do have the deed poll document. My identity card and passport (Singapore) shows my real name, so will that be a problem if I submit my original birth certificate with the deed poll?

I can help you with the second question.

All official names you ever used will need to be listed on the petition. Also copies of documents proving those names/name changes need to be included, together with certified English translation (can be self-certified).

Technically, beneficiary’s birth certificate is not required until the consulate interview; but if one had any name-changes during lifetime, the birth certificate could be a nice starting point for making a sense of different names.
