Based on the previous administration,  staying out of it wasn't the norm.  "If I had a son" comes to mind.  Several others too, but moving on...

he should have stayed out of it because of the sexual assault allegations, considering trump has his own. and apparently didn't think moore was the right candidate from the beginning.
