Physical Address I-130

My husband currently resides in the Dominican Republic, yet his nationality is Haitian. He will not interview at Santo Domingo because he does not have residency for the Dominican Republic. He is only there for work, yet his boss does not pay Dominican taxes. Many Dominicans try to get away with things. So, with this knowledge, what should be put on the petition for his current physical address and employment? Most Dominicans are not in favor of Haitians so his boss would not give him a good reference and may even lie saying he does not work there.

With this knowledge, is it better for my husband to go back to Haiti before the petition is mailed and start living there? If not, how should the petition form be filled out?

You must be truthful. If he's living and working in the DR, even illegally, you must state this. 

 

They won't ask his boss for a reference. They won't come to visit. Just put the truth. US immigration is not really bothered about your husband's bosses political opinions or his racism towards Haitians. Don't be scared of this question.

The only thing I’d be concerned about is making sure his interview was in Haiti, if that’s what he wants. Does he have family that can accept mail for him in Haiti? If so, put that as mailing address and his DR address as physical.

Yes, he has family that can accept his mail for him in Haiti. If the Haitian address is his mailing address, will this assure that he interviews in Haiti?

I think so... if I were you, I’d also mention it in the cover letter.

Okay. The petition form says it's at the discretion of the agency chosen to interview at whether they allow it. Of course, we chose Haiti. What is the chance they won't take his case?

This morning I was thinking that technically his address is Haiti. He only has a tourist visa. How can he have an address in a country he is only visiting?
