Hey everyone,

As the time is getting closer for out NOA2 we have started looking into getting the police reports taken care of in time for the interview. I'm not too worried about the police report from Liberia, but the ones from Ghana and Ivory Coast have me worried. I searched the previous threads pertaining police reports in Accra, but they don't really say anything about getting one as a non-resident. Has anyone ever dealt with getting one in Accra as a non-resident and if so, how did you go about getting it? Any info would be much appreciated! Also, I found an e-mail for the "police report issuing" office in Accra and I will e-mail them tonight to see what kind of feedback I get from them.

Ghana Police Clearance Certificate: Available. Residents of Ghana should report to the headquarters branch of the Criminal Investigations Division of the Ghana Police Authority in Accra, where a fingerprint sample will be taken. Cost for preparation of the certificate is approximately $7 USD (higher for expedited service), payable in local currency, for preparation within 7 days. Non-residents should forward a letter of request for a Police Certificate for Immigration Purposes. Accompanying the letter should be a certified sample of the applicant's fingerprints and an international money order in the amount of $80 USD made out to "Commissioner of Police, Ghana." Forward these documents to the following address:

Commissioner of Police

Criminal Investigations

Department Headquarters

PO Box 505

Accra, Ghana

YMMV

You might want to have someone in Accra (if you know of anyone there) go to the Police Headquarters and verify the information. I remember seeing a sign in that chaotic office that said it was $100 for non-residents. You could also try calling.

Here's my post and follow-ups on that post about this:

Also note that although the web page says they have "express service" we found that they actually don't, even if you try and dash them.

Good luck!

Yes, I have friends there and he has family there. His brother lives at Buduburam Camp and we were talking this morning about having him go and inquire for us. It says 7 working days, but I can imagine it being much longer, right? Also, the site says you need to bring a request form...where would we get that from? Will the embassy send that somehow with packet 3? Thanks for any info.
