Good afternoon

Does anyone know if when we send documents and info that require translation such as birth certificate or marriage certificate we need to get the translations done with a public notary? Or we can done them ourselves? I mean if I am able to get the translation done by myself is this accepted by the embassy, NVC staff etc or it has to be done by someone who stamp them as certificate translation? Thank you. 😊

Any translation needs to be accompanied by an attestation as to the accuracy and fluency of the translator.  If you are fluent then you certainly can do it yourself

YMMV

For example if I send a certificate of my English proficiency test when I graduate here in USA that will work like a attestation ? Sorry if I am taking your time with this question but every time I ask someone about it no one knows a solid answer. Thanks.

Hi how are you doing?

Glad to find someone from Cuba too however I really appreciate all the help I have gotten from VJ members

omg ppl here are awesome!!! And I mean it.

They  save us so much time and effort.

Are you in Colombia waiting for an interview of someone you had claimed?

if this is the case let me know how are you doing? Is it more or less complicated than in Cuba?

Gracias

Yes, I hope really soon getting the approval, because is so stressing this whole process, being separated from our couple, I don´t want to remember the days of Irma´s hurricane, that stress! It´s insane!

Yes, your husband has to come here to Bogota to his interview, unless, U.S Embassy start to works again.... I really hope that, first, because all the moneythat people spend in their relatives staying here at least 3 weeks in order to interview, picking up the passport... and second because this cause congestion to this embassy and processing times grows a lot!

Good morning:

I didn’t know about the English rule

sorry hahaha

There are many drawbacks on this whole process in Bogota one of the worst things is that Cubans have to travel to Colombia like 5 or 6 days before their interviews bc they need to get the medical exam required by USA embassy over there too.

I was told that you have to schedule it and it doesn’t get done in a day like is done in Cuba it takes 3 to 4 days or maybe more it all depends of what are the medical office rule for these cases.

Also I am sad bc I am not going to be able to go to this interview with him not only bc of all the money I will have to spend in flight’s ticket and hotel, food etc but also bc I cannot be absent from my job for so many days/weeks awaiting for a visa.

I hope by the time my husband gets his interview I have got plenty of information about this process that can ease it for him to go through the whole thing.

Have a very good day

Well, from the very beginning of the process my wife and I send the address of here Bogota, in any way that I can help you, you just let me know ok!

Yes, I´m really praying for all of this situation with  U.S Embassy in Cuba get resolved, is a big deal and complication to travel here, hotel reservation, that area near Embassy is kinda expensive.

The medical exam is also here, wow, well, what I recommend, that he gathers there in Cuba is vaccination record and try to stamp it in Provincial Health of his municipality, or province (by the way, I´m from Santa Clara) ,and yes, here you have to call to the medical examinator and set up an appointment, also for biometrics.(I can help you with that too)...

The other thing is that you won´t be able to be with him in his interview, and believe me , that´s a big support in that moment, fortunatelly, my wife is going to come to be with me in all the final process, from Medical Exam, biometrics, interview (together) and with the help of GOD, leave togheter to U.S!

Well, once again, anything taht I can help you with, please, don´t doubt in contact me ok!

Have a great week, and with luck, you start the year with  awesome news!

Take care! Greetings... Jhonny!
