Hi Everyone,

I would like to share to you my story how I met bf now. We started chatting in fb since Jan 2017. He is from Manila and currently working in Saudi Arabia in Jeddah. He was denied in his B2 application but I was not part of his application. I mean he didn't put my name as his contact person in DS-160.. As he got his canadian tourist visa, we are planning to met there for the first time and after that, i will petition him for K1 visa. We are actually planning to get married in Canada this year during his visit but we are hesitant since we have not meet yet although we are constantly having video calls and it might cause immigration problems later on for CR1 and so I have decided to file for K1 visa instead and not to marry in Canada.

my bf don't agree that we will process it there in Saudi Arabia as he says it is islamic country and same sex are not actually recognized but same people says that, the decision will still be with US and it has nothing to do with Saudi Arabia... Please advise if we can process if there? or it is better in Manila?

Thank you.

Others have reported problems in Middle eastern countries for SS couples.  Logically there should not be issues because this is a USA situation but those are the reports

That should it be but since I have not read any stories for same sex processed in middle east I am 50/50 as to where we shud process my petition.. I dont want him to put at risk at the same. The only thing is he might travel to manila to attend only for interview then travel back to saudi or he might resign from his job and move permanently in u.s with me if in Godswill that our petition will be approved..

The petition is processed in the USA.  The visa application is processed at the Embassies

Yeah.. would u recommend or suggest to process it in riyadh if you have the same situation as mine? I am really confused on this matter...I hope to hear some couples who have the same situation.. if there is no problem to process in middle east then it wud be convenient for him as he dont need to travel to manila anymore..

As a K-1 and a ss couple this issue should not be known by anyone outside the consulate officer at the Embassy.

Exactly.. I am really thinking to process it in manila instead..

To removed the doubt, I emailed US embassy in Riyadh Saudi and they can confirm that K1 visa can be done there.. So my fiance will no longer travel Philippines to process for K1...
