It's called deflecting...When you know someone is right but you have nothing to say to counter it.

 

I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable. For most people it would seem quite obvious that comparing the national debt from a single bill to a 2 term Presidency is asinine.

Folks, this thread seems to be unnecessarily tense.  If your intended comment contains a snipe at someone here, please rethink before hitting Reply.  In addition, remember that even those participants (on any side) who seem to be deflecting, avoiding, "punting," or whatever-you'd-call-it have all contributed great points to other threads.  Thanks in advance for scaling things back.

You are assuming that NBF thinks there will be additional debt added during the Trump years - he definitely didn't say that.  It is very possible that there won't be any additional debt added during the next 7 years.  So, without your assumptions, what NBF said is absolutely true and accurate - 1.5 billion added is much better than 9 billion added.

I was talking about Obama's debt.

 

He said "They are about to add 1.5 trillion over the next 10 years,. That was in response to my posts about Obama's debt.  I did not realize that this was the tax relief bill.

 

Hence the commit. We were talking about 2 different things.

If tension creating posts are going to be removed, we should start by removing posts from the person who started the personal insults, thereby creating the tense thread.  Then remove all the posts piling on.  Otherwise, all that has been done now is the removal of a person's ability to defend myself from those personal attacks.  

 

Either remove all the tense posts or don't remove any.  We should be asking for fairness with the moderation.  You can clearly see the original personal attack in post #7 of this thread - "If a simple search to verify something is beyond your capabilities, it's probably not worth responding to you."  The thread degenerated from that point.  If that isn't a personal attack, I don't know what would be considered one.  The clearly generalized post laughing at liberals for now pretending to care about the national debt isn't justification for a person insult.  

 

Also, why aren't all the insulting posts attempting to belittle and question NBF's intelligence being removed?  That seems to be a constant theme for several people on the left.
