for those who had read it or commented, thanks!

Things have gotten a lot better, and I am accepted into my inlaws family now. I have not spoken to my MIL yet because of the language barrier. I just recently spoke to my father in law on the phone for about 30seconds but was really nervousssssss. They are happy for us overall yet still facing some difficult social issues so they don't talk about it much where they are. They live in Varanasi, very traditional place. We hope to help them move to Mumbai in a year or so where they won't be under so much social pressure. They have a lot of relatives in Mumbai so they decided they'd rather live there when deciding between New Delhi and Mumbai.

christina!!

that is such great news!! so happy to hear it! good for you also for remaining true to who you are and not writing them off. i'm sure sujeet's recent holiday made a big difference. i bet sujeet couldn't stop gushing about you ... his smiles at the mention of your name should have been proof enough and spoke volumes about the special relationship you share.

as a mother, she must have been so relieved to see how well he looks and sounds and about all the wonderful stories he shared with her about your life together.

i am just really happy for you both ... you deserve it! (F)

HI

I am very happy that there has been some progress between your in-laws and yourself.

I feel it is very sad and tragic that they dont or did not before hand accpet you.

Sujeet seems like a very wonderful and a good husband. I see he is very happy and he glows. His parents should be happy that his son is making his own life, and is very happy.

So I am happy that things are going in the right direction.

we will keep praying it will keep going in the right direction.

Sujeet has a good and talented family..we just need peace and harmony..

Traditions chage over time, and I understand his parents are very into tradition. It seems his father is more willing to accpet but things will be good..

Christina,

I am glad to hear that things are slowly moving forward with the inlaws. I am like Gimmy here on this one I bet his going back home showed them that you were not taking him away and they were losing their son. Instead they gained a lovely daughter too. Good luck on helping them move and know that more positive things are coming your way.

Thank you everyone!! :D(F)(F)(F)

To add more detail, Sujeet's sisters and mother all sent me different gifts. It was really nice! And the gifts my mother in law sent were the traditional kind that mean I am her daughter in law. So we are both really relieved!!
