Important Tips About Birth Certificate Translation

I don't want to make waves or stir the waters, but if you guys knew Moh... I handled a lot of things because Mohammed is VERY headstrong about things like this, but tends to be pretty clueless and goes chugging along like a major train wreck. He's kind of a country guy without a lot of experience outside of Egypt. You have no idea the hell he put me through when he travelled. He refused to listen to any information from me about what he needed to do and just had himself a great big huge adventure, no bloody phone calls except for a few fleeting seconds on borrowed cell phones, 2 missed flights, (oh god I could tell more but just can't go back there again) he had no clue what he was doing and I was a complete wreck because I felt responsible for him. No, my husband is not retarded or a child. He just has a way of doing things that can make life........... erm............ *interesting* sometimes (remember the bike down the freeway????). If some of the people on here attempt to help their SOs, maybe there are possibly other reasons then mere "molly-coddling".

If either of us is cooking, we don't make double because we LOVE each other, we do it because that's what you do. If anyone else was here at dinner time, they'd be included, too.

It's disturbing to me that doing chores is and indication of love.

Thing is...my husband never asked. IF he did and IF I had the answers for him then yeah I'd answer him. I'm not gonna withhold information. Here's a question for you, if you had to translate a document here, would your husband worry about getting info for you or would he assume that you could handle it? Egyptians are quite accustomed to the BS they're handed everyday. Just like we are here. Nothing is easy to do in Egypt that is true but there's nothing we can do about that. These men are gonna have to put their big boy pants on and take care of business.

If someone is going to post info here that will help my husband in anyway shape or form I have two options:

option 1: just say screw him, he's a big guy, let him figure this out on his own, even though it's right here in front of me and I know (as does most of anyone who's ever gotten married in Cairo) that NOTHING is easy to do in that country, especially if you've never known anyone to do it before you.

option 2: take the two seconds...ok maybe 5, that it takes to copy and paste this into a nice lil email for him so that he'll have it and have one less thing to worry about. won't even make me break a sweat and will be a nice thing to do for my husband who works about 70 freakin' hours a day then goes home to make sure his two sisters are all set, i.e don't need groceries, etc.

But what does this have to do with you? Why do you have to be a wreck? He travels like this, you know it, he's fine with it, if he's not retarded or a child, then why do you act this way?

That being said, when I gave him the instructions on how to get the military papers done, he was very appreciative and not offended at all.

Sure they have to take care of business but why can't we help if the info is already there to make their life just a tad more easy? Just out of pure kindness?

Not only do they assume we can handle it, I can guarantee you with the personalities on this board, most ladies would be PO'ed if their man said "oh, I checked the XYZ State DMV site, I think you're mistaken about the documents you need to bring to your renewal test."

Because she LOVES him and is WORRIED about him out of LOVE. He's NEVER travelled outside of Egypt before. Why is this such a hard concept to understand?? It's called compassion for another human being that you care about! My parents are competent too as is any other member of my family who is an adult but I'd still be worried about them when they travel to a foreign country and I'd help them anyway I could.

I'm going to speak for Moody and guess she isn't opposed to kindness. It's the obsession on these boards with finding out information SOs should be finding out themselves, the incessant lists, incessant worrying the men can't do stuff, incessant "I'm a wreck" posts, play by plays that really get bothersome and lame.
