Well, that's your own problem if you're all annoyed by important info. Other people are valuing and appreciating my help than you. Go have a cup of tea and relax your mind, Mrs. Moody. LOL.

Because I get annoyed by useless threads and posts.

I don't think I'm babying my husband at all. He has no idea where to go for this stuff and sure he can find out the hard way but why do that when it's right here already done by someone who took the time to type it out? I know he was super grateful that Rahma's husband typed out the instructions on how to get the military information. This stuff isn't a normal thing to do like getting a license. It really only comes about when someone does something as unique as getting a visa...something a lot of Egyptians or other foreigners probably never think of in their daily lives. He rarely gets online except to talk to me since he works all day long outside so he really doesn't have the time to be looking all of this stuff up.

Just my two cents.

I dunno, my husband never asked me to tell him where to go for that stuff because well, how would I know? I don't live in Egypt. If he didn't know, he asked ppl in Egypt. Wouldn't you think it would make more sense for them to ask a fellow Egyptian instead of an American wife? At any rate, my major beef is with the numerous threads about the same subject. Jo and Re isn't the only culprit. I get equally annoyed with the play by play threads...security checks cleared, he got a call about his visa, visa in hand, he went to the toilet, he's packing his bags, he bought his ticket, he's here....you get the point.

Does that mean you're not going to do that for us? I like to hear about what's in the bags, myself. And info about what's been paid for the ticket is informative.

Oh I totally agree that it would make no sense for him to ask me. He's never asked me how to do anything and found out the hard way with a ton of stuff but I've just given him any info that could help him with this stuff. He doesn't have any friends who have come to the US. Only one friend who came to Canada and that has a different set of rules and it was like three years ago that he left so other things have changed since then too. I guess if there are a ton of guys who have done it before then it would be easier for him to get the info but he's the only one in his lil clique of friends who has ever done this. Actually their still trying to wrap their heads around it all 'cause they think he's nuts for leaving Egypt. lol

Translations for a birthcertificate aren't only needed for spousal visa purposes. My husband's BIL needed his translated for travel to England on a work visa, that's who he asked. Translations of documents isn't an odd thing to know about. Any resourceful human being could figure out where to go for a translation. There isn't just one place in all of Egypt for that. It's not like finding the holy grail, sheesh.

I, personally, have never had to have anything translated here but I know places I can get it done. How do I know this info? Google, phone books, etc.

What bags?

Forgive me if this sounds betchy but the wives/husbands of beneficiaries don't have to deal with birth certificate translation. The beneficiaries take care of it. It'd be like giving my husband info on how I would go about getting my driver's license renewed or something. I already know how to do it, he isn't involved, why should he have to know. These topics are so annoying. I think we should stick to things that we as petitioners need to know. Beneficiaries (for the most part) know what they need to do on their side. My husband never once asked me how to get things translated or where he needed to go for physicals or whatever during this process. He got the packet 3 or whatever, it had the info he needed. Why did I have to get involved? This kind of info is only useful for nosey wives. It's not actually helpful.

Yeah, I don't get this, either. I mean, no one is marrying a retard, right?

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

I would think they are resourceful, they were able to meet & marry through the internet.

oh ok I'm pms'in so I'll bite.

How many of your husbands know how to cook, but you actually make dinner out of LOVE for them because it's just a nice thing to do????

If someone is going to post info here that will help my husband in anyway shape or form I have two options:

option 1: just say screw him, he's a big guy, let him figure this out on his own, even though it's right here in front of me and I know (as does most of anyone who's ever gotten married in Cairo) that NOTHING is easy to do in that country, especially if you've never known anyone to do it before you.

option 2: take the two seconds...ok maybe 5, that it takes to copy and paste this into a nice lil email for him so that he'll have it and have one less thing to worry about. won't even make me break a sweat and will be a nice thing to do for my husband who works about 70 freakin' hours a day then goes home to make sure his two sisters are all set, i.e don't need groceries, etc.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
