Hank has laid out some excellent information for you and her to follow. The process is quite easy. If you want some help I can recommend a fellow who has been processing filipino/am couples for years. He is also married to a Filipino and keeps a blog and is very knowledgeable. His rates are very reasonable and he has woman in Manila that will help your GF along.  Here is his email address: raybacon1@gmail.com.

Not my first rodeo.

YMMV

Process has changed some since then, heck it changes some each year... nothing new about that..

I do like that the whole embassy process can be done within a month, or so.

You done with NVC?

Just an FYI the embassy does allow for immigrant visas applicants to reschedule their appt date once their case file has reached the embassy  (this as not always so )

We just looked at the DFA website for passport applications.  Cebu office is one of the few that has no available appointment slots all the through March 31, 2018.  Period.  Does anyone know if this is normal for the Cebu DFA office or do they open additional slots from time to time?  Will we have to go to a different island?  Almost all the other offices are only booked through the end of January.  Maybe a reason to take a little overnight trip somewhere.

I also never said my previous was a Filipina.  My previous had a perfectly good passport already, didn't have to deal with it

Yesterday she was successful by herself to getting her barangay certificate and applying for her Postal ID.  She now has new found confidence.  She had an epiphany yesterday and told me that now she doesn't need the assistance of an agent that she can do it herself!!!  Hallelujah!!!

Tell her to get a Philippines Driver Licenses. It sure come in handy in the USA the first few months.    Go to LTO or better if she knows someone working at LTO who can get her one

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

Needless to say I do not have an original signed letter of intent to marry.  So we are working through getting her to go to internet cafe, print out the sample letter I sent to her, sign it and send it via PhilPost.  That is the only original document I need.  I have the I-129F all prepared pending this last final piece.

Don't use or trust Philpost.  Last letter I had sent to me took over 3 months to make it to my house.

DHL or Fed Ex is going to be your best route for shipping documents to and fro PI.  It is cheaper to send to the USA versa sending to Philippines.

That is crazy on Cebu being so busy.  Nice thing is DFA is quick issuing the passport afterwards, take only a week or two.

Your profile shows IR/CR-1, yet you mention a Letter of Intent to marry, are you doing a K-1 this time?  Could you update your profile, same some confusion.  Salamat Po
