Police Certificate In Jamaica

Hello everyone,

I am awaiting NOA2 and I am trying to be very proactive and have all documents ready for the NVC phase. My question is, can my husband apply for his police certificate prior to approval? He is in Jamaica. I have heard some say no because the tax office will ask for a letter and some say he will not need the letter. Would someone who recently went through the cr1 process in Jamaica please help me out? Thanks in advance!

No such BS about tax office asking for letter.

I applied for my the day after I got approval and I did so because the in 3 days I was heading to the US for vacation and would submit my documents while on vacation. I did the next day service.

I would advice waiting until you get NOA2 notification because the police certificate is only valid for 6 months.

Congratulations on your approval! Thank you very much for your help! Would you mind telling me if there was a particular certificate you had to request? And cost in USD? Wow 6 months? Oh I'm glad I asked. I was told one year.

The cost is as follows

21 days - $3000

5 days - $6000

1 day - $8000 available at Duke Street  only

Your husband will need to take his TRN with him when he goes to make payment at the tax office. He will need to tell them which option he wants: 21 days, 5 days or 1 day.

1 day is collected the following day.
