Hi all,

me and my partner are almost done with completing the I-129f but just wanting some advice for some of the questions if possible.

1. Is the A number given after completing the form as neither of us have one.

2. Is the USCIS number given afterwards also or do we have to compete something online before submitting the form?

3. Item 38f asks for travel document, but I have been travelling on a ESTA and have not got any numbers? I have copied the stamps from customs in my passport, is this enough and what do I need to put on the form if no travel document just none? I am not in the US and this whole section says if you currently in the US to complete, but the guidance says if you have ever been to the US???

You will only have an A number if you have previously made immigration applications. The beneficiary will be issued an A number at NOA2 stage. I think the USCIS number and the A number maybe the same one.

USCIS issue a case number once the application is received at Dallas Lockbox.

If you’re not currently in the US then you don’t need to include your I-94 number

"A" number is the Alien Registration number and is not assigned unless you have or have had a Legal Permanent Resident (ie. greencard) in the past.

The "A" number is NOT the same as the USCIS case number

YMMV

So can I just check if I have answered no to the question currently in the US. I don’t need to answer the following questions or provide dates of my last visit or passport number?

We just entered NA in 38a and skipped to q.39 about children
