facebook chats need translation?

we have i dont know over 500 pages of facebook chat most of it in the native official language of beneficiary,  do they need to be translated?

Just include pertinent chat logs, not all of them. And yes they would need to be translated if not in english.

Focus on quality not quantity. No one should be sending 500 pages of chatter, especially when most of is likely to be "I miss you" and "I love you". Send a couple of pages to show that communicate regularly. A few screenshots of your inbox from random months showing that messages are received regularly is more than sufficient. 

 

People really do get in a twist over this and there's no need. Yoir main focus should be showing evidence of time spent together in person. Every visit is worth more than a million Facebook messages. If you have a good number of visits, show lots of evidence of that before you stress over printing Facebook messages.

Yes, if you feel you can make a competent translation by yourself, then no need for a professional. Just as long as the consular officer can understand what they're reading.
