Man gets 25 years for impregnating 9-year-old

Has the "growth hormones in food contributing to early onset of puberty" angle been explored yet?

I've heard this theory several times, that the average age of puberty in girls (and boys) is dropping fairly rapidly because of all the chemicals in foods and even in hair-care products. The height/weight factor is there, but arguably from the aforementioned reasons.

Obviously, abstinence classes in 3rd grade aren't working.

My daughter is 10 ... If this happened to her I would probably want to kill this sick individual myself, but then I wouldnt' get to watch my kids grow up ..

I have a friend that had something bad happen to him many years ago and this reminds me of his story ..

My friends name is Joe and he is 64 years old. About 5 years before Joe was born, his fathers brothers wife died and left her husband (an alcoholic) and 3 kids behind. Joe's father, being a decent person with a little money, agreed to take on one of the kids, an 11 year old boy, to raise. For about 5 years this boy had it made. He was basically an only child and got everything he wanted. Then Joe was born and the cousin had to share the attention; a little over a year later Joe's little sister was born and the cousin was really hurting for attention.

One day the cousin had had enough and asked Joe and his sister if they wanted to go out by the pond hunting. Of course they did.

The cousin apparently hadn't planned ahead because he wanted to kill these kids, but had grabbed a single shot rifle and no extra bullets. He ended up standing the kids back to front and told them to watch into the tree for a squirrel. The cousin took the shot, the bullet went thru Joe's little sister clean and hit Joe in the abdomen killing the sister on the spot. The little girls body slowed or deflected the bullet enough that it still pierced Joes skin but it exited very close to where it entered and fell into his hip waders.

The cousin, expecting Joe to bleed to death threw the little sister into a ravine near the pond and made Joe to lie down on the floor of a horse stall in a nearby barn and not say a word. After some time Joe could hear his mother calling for him, at first he was afraid to answer because he thought his cousin was nearby, but then the pain got to be too much for him and he yelled back.

Joe went to his sisters funeral on his 5th birthday.

The cousin admitted in court to killing the little girl and trying to kill Joe because he was jealous of them and because their father made him go to school when he didn't want to. They sentenced him to prison even though he was only 16, but for Joe his sentence wasn't long enough.

The cousin found God while he was in prison and when he was released he was an ordained minister.

It's 60 years later now and Joe has a box that he seldom shows anyone. Inside the box he has every newspaper article that was printed on the story, pictures of his sister, and even the bullet that killed her, injured him, and ended up in his boot.

Joe's wife told me once that 20 some years ago when the cousin got out of prison Joe would get drunk and want to go find his cousin and kill him. He took his little sisters life away from her.

This story reminds me of Joe's story because this little girl, although she is still alive, she must certainly have died inside from this mans actions. She can't be a little girl anymore, he took her childhood away from her.

Like I said at the beginning of this reply, I know what I would want to do if it was my little girl.

These are just my thoughts on a very, very sad story.

I have an 11 yr old daughter, at 9 she was very chunky, and now that her hieght is growing fast, shes getting thinner fast. I dont think the parents noticed just for that reason, 9 yr olds are chunky bc of the slow growth at that age. anywhooo, i remember when i was 19 i didnt start showing when i was preggo with my daughter until i was 8 months. so it is very possible that no one would have noticed. not to mention what parent is going to look at their 9 yr old and say " OMG ARE YOU PREGNANT??"

as far as the guy, speaking as a mother of an 11 yr old, i would have killed him if it had happened to my child.

The story doesn't mention anything... but I really wonder how the parents didn't discover

A) that someone is having sex with their daughter for over a year and b ) that she was pregnant. I mean 7 months preggo.... one would think they'd find out a little earlier....

Of course. No one ever looks at the cause / lack of parental supervision.

Thank God he wasn't sentenced in the UK. 2 years max imprisonment, if that..
