Fox News issues correction on Roy Moore accuser yearbook ‘forgery’ headline

Fox News has updated a report that initially said a woman accusing Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore of sexual assault had forged his entry in her yearbook.

Beverly Young Nelson has accused the Republican Senate nominee of sexually assaulting her nearly 40 years ago when she was 16 years old. 

She told Tom Llamas, of ABC News, in a Friday interview that she made notes underneath Moore's entry. 
 

 

“Beverly, he signed your yearbook?” Llamas asked.  
 
“He did sign it,” Nelson replied.
 
“And you made some notes underneath?” Llamas followed.
 
“Yes,” she confirmed. 
 
A since-deleted tweet on the official Fox News twitter account had read, “BREAKING NEWS: Roy Moore accuser admits she forged part of yearbook inscription attributed to Alabama senate candidate.”

Fox News has since updated the story with a note at the bottom of the piece while removing any references to “forgery” in it. 

"An update to this story reflects that Beverly Young Nelson admits writing what ABC News characterized as 'notes' beneath what she says is Roy Moore’s signature, and that the only notes below the signature are the date and location.

"Furthermore, the headline on [the] story now specifies that Nelson admits to writing part of the inscription herself, rather than forging part of it."

If he wrote the actual note, why won’t they give up the yearbook for analysis?  That’s right, Gloria Allred is involved.

She and her attorney told us that all of the writing in her yearbook was written by Roy Moore, the inscription, the signature, and the notes below the signature.  She was adamant about that and insisted it proved he was guilty.  She has now admitted she wrote the notes under the signature.  She lied about who wrote the notes.  That is forgery.  She didn't have much credibility before this, she has none now.

 

I have no doubt anymore that Roy Moore is going to win this election and go on to serve the people of his district honorably in Congress.

The Dems can't loose. They either win the seat (probably not) or they gain a tremendous boost from the fact that the Republican brand is tarnished from sending a child molester to the US Senate. Moore, Trump and Bannon are destroying the Republican brand.

You should be more careful about labeling people as criminal when they've only been accused of a crime.  Especially when the evidence is as suspect as it is in this case and we now know at least one of the accusers is a confirmed liar and forger.

 

Local, state, and federal elections all disagree with you, but don't let numbers get in the way.  Nobody cares about what the left thinks about the Republican brand.  Honestly, should we expect anything less than you thinking it is being destroyed?

I heard Moore is going to sue over this. If he was guilty and trying to cover it up I doubt he would be suing. The accuser has a huge credibility problem as she already admitted to lying about part of her story.

They have already lost a record number of seats federal, state and local in the last election. With all the false accusations and whining I see the trend continuing into 2018 and 2020.

Roy Moore is obviously not truthful on this topic. I'll hope these women get their day in civil court but I doubt it. Seating Roy Moore will be a great boost to the Democrats 2018 efforts. I doubt you will find a look many pollsters who disagree.

Why is it obvious he is not being truthful?  It is certainly obvious at least one of his accusers is a liar - she admitted to it.

 

The same pollsters who guaranteed Hillary was going to win the election, not just win it, but win it by a record margin?  You keep following those liberal leaning pollsters.

Roy has" Moore" to loose. Just like the President was going to sue all if his sexual abuse  acusers its, not going to happen. In fact the president is being sued by one of his accussers for defamation.

I hope it doesn't do that.  Women have a hard enough time as it is coming forward with sexual assault allegations.  I think it is a difficult thing for both genders though, men too have a hard time coming forward.  However, I do acknowledge that sexual assaults happen much more frequently to women.
