ny fiancee has been on AP since June 15 shortly after the interview. There is no update. please advise. Or should we disregard and marry and file for spouse.

All case go through some form of AP.  If you get married, you will have to file for a CR-1 visa.  That will take another 12-14 months, and maybe longer..........and you won't get a refund for your K-1 fees...........I would just wait.

Better to just wait it out. If you marry and re-file, you will go through AP again and it would just further delay everything.

Damn, that’s 6 months of AP though. Shouldn’t you’ve heard from them already? I thought after interview it wouldn’t take but a couple of weeks to process. Your medical is long expired by now then.

Wait it out, even with a CR1 you will go through AP and you will just lengthen the process and start the AP all over again.
We had 16 1/2 months of AP.

What is going on when is in AP? Is it posable tht u can approved for the visa even with 221(g) stating tht ur case will be returned?

Does it say it’s being returned? If it says that, then it’s not gonna get approved from what people in this forum say. They say once it’s returned it’s most likely dead and they have to start over.

Possible .......slim chance until it has left and has been send to NVC. Then its dead. Even if it sits in a box for later shipping to USCIS
via NVC it is a dead end. Immediately after the interview there is a slim chance. But again, I think they just kept the documents without thought
of approval.
Therefore the importance of verifying through the senator that it will be returned and is not being further considered for approval.

Lots of things are deemed AP.
Administrative Processing can mean security and background checks, it can mean it sits in a box until it is returned 6 months later,
it can mean it's on someone's desk for a final decision at the embassy. Do not go by the online notifications of AP.

@AfricanQAP is also the temporary notification when a case gets returned, AP meaning it is being administratively processed for the return.
You just have to know what type of AP and inquire. You may get a general idea but not exact information.
In your case the 221g letter stated return so pretty much a dead end kind of AP to process the return.

Ur right! Once i hear from my congresswoman (with reasons why his visa was turned down) or see its being returned, ill withdraw it asap and get married.

Seems long for Nairobi. Maybe you can update us on your details? NBI is a high fraud embassy, so they maybe taking their time. Any age differences? Religious? How long were you dating? How many times did you see your fiance(e) in person?

My case was in AP for six months. I kept calling and sending emails but there was no explanation as to why my case was taking too long. I had finally given up enquiring. I even stopped thinking about it when the embassy called me one morning to tell me that my medical exam had expired and that I needed to take a new one. I took a new medical exam and shortly after, say two weeks, my status changed from AP to ready then issued two days later. So don’t lose hope. They are working on your case.
