Global Entry while waiting on RoC

My personal experience:

 

when my 2 year card expired, I went to an enrollment centre and they updated my green card expiration date (receipt notice extended to another year)

 

you cannot not use the kiosk with your card, it will tell you that your card has expired.  You will have to mannally enter your green card number,select your flight and answer some questions then a receipt would come out. 

 

Pre-Check was never affected.

No kidding.  Wife and I got rejected for GE at interview because my wife bought a watch on ebay a year or so back that, as it turns out, was a knock off and being shipped from China (she didn't know that).  It got confiscated at customs and they sent us forms to fill out.  Told them we didn't want the watch but it was enough to make us ineligible for GE.

This one is interesting I never knew you could manually type in your green card info without scanning. I work at the airport so I’ll have to see this one in action. Thanks.

There is a way to do it, last time we came through customs my husband's valid green card would not scan for some reason. We had to type the number in manually and that worked.

Unfortunately in our case, the Kiosk said Green Card has expired. The Immigration office immediately reached a conclusion it was a 10 year GC that had expired and started berating him. I cut in and said it is a ROC 2 year (he didn't even listen to the explanation). Sent him to the end of the non-immigrant line
