I work for a cable internet provider. I had a caller that needed to reset his modem. This is done by unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in. Simple enough right? I tell him to unplug the power cord. He didn't understand that. So I said electrical cord. He asks me how to unplug it. So I tell him that it is the same as any other electrical appliance. He told me that I am talking too technical for him. The really sad part is that I have a similar call at least 3 or 4 times a week.

Sometimes here at the hospital where i work Nurses want to give two bags of a 5% solution to = a 10% solution. They do not realise that with medications you can not double up to get the dosage.

Then again, kids have to go to school for math, and they seem to be lacking at that now too. This new generation of kids..... I'm scared one day America is going to be full of Chopf##ks. Good thing we're doing our part here on VJ to import some new genes!

My total was $5.51. All this teenager has to do is punch in the amount you give them (i.e. $10.51) and the machine tells them the change is $5.00.. .do they get it? NOOOOOO. This kid says the machine must be broken and calls the manager!!!!

I'm not trying to be cruel. But I just think that subtraction is something that you master in grade school

No, subtraction is something WE mastered in grade school. These kids now can't do any of that.

But ask them the difference between the coax and RCAs, and they know right away. Playstation uses this one, X-Box uses this one...
