So last night I had such a nightmare.  I received and RFE and in my application I listed the beneficiary as another friend of mine (not my fiance) because for some reason I thought it would have a better chance of being approved.  At the last moment I realized that I would have to marry THAT person and not my fiance and I panicked at the thought of how I could correct it or even lose all of my time and money and have to start over completely.  This process is totally stressful and lovers should NEVER be kept apart so long.  Many of us are losing our minds!!!!!!!

Aw I'm so sorry you had such a horrible nightmare!! I agree, no couple should be going through something like this, but we're in this already and we can't change things. Keep pushing forward, it''s worth the wait

I wonder why I keep seeing so many approvals the past few days but my adjudication date keep moving further away

Because they aren't approving them fast enough to keep pace with the number of cases they need to be processing on a daily basis so they are getting further and further behind.

For the month of May, the should be focusing on November cases, but we only see 630 November cases approved so far and  another 504 in an RFE status, but have over 3200 cases for them to work. They seemed to have recently slowed down a lot.

If there are 3200 cases pending and they have completed 630 last month is not this a 5 month back log which is better than the 6 months i normally hear about and seems to be the standard these days.  Of course this is based on averages using last month performance and the same number of cases every month.  New here and just asking questions.

The 3200 number is about how many total November cases there are. There are still over 1000 October cases pending, and over 2000 November cases, plus ?? December cases. Ideally, they would process them about as quickly as they come in or even a little fast to play catch-up, but whatever their deal is, they have really slowed down over the last year or two. A couple of years ago it only took 3 months for the entire process!

I did some checking and they processed about 2000 combined October + November cases in the month of May, in my opinion that's about 1000-1500 cases too little! The other thing though, is we can only count the updates they make on the 'old' website as it's all the data we have, and there are some cases estimated to be 30% - 50% that are only updated on the "new" website or not updated online at all. USCIS is switching computer systems and I think it's screwed things up for them.

All we can do is hope they start speeding up!

Just did a quick scroll through November since many people were so kind to tell us wether the old and/or new site was update.

66 touches were reported in the Nov thread with a notice if it was the old or new website, both approvals and rfe's

25 were updated on the old website

36 were updated on the new website

1 on both

4 were silent

Keeping in mind that not everyone checked both websites in their enthusiasm, or the other website could be updated a day later and it wasn't reported. So I'm keeping a margin of about 10%. That would mean roughly:

35% gets updated on the old site,

50% on the new site,

10% on both and

5% is completely silent.

These numbers are based on only 66 cases reported here on VJ so it is by no means a representative cross section. Just some information to let run around in your head.

To me this shows that they are working more on the new database than they are on the old and I think they might be further into November than we think.

Thank you for the insight! It helps us to see and understand (try to understand) how USCIS is working at the moment. Hopefully it gets better for the November filers who are still waiting. Thank you again dear! ^_^
