Ok, there is definitely a 12/1 approval now coming up that looks legit (?). I'm a 12/1 too and I am sooo nervous and excited!! I know it could still be long time but its still pretty cool to see that on the list. Back to cleaning out my spare room so I can convert it to my honeys office. It takes my mind off all this approval madness lol lol.  Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend :-)

Good luck on your new job!!! That is great timing :-)

Could you please pm me the wac number? I haven't seen any Dec approvals yet

I dreamed last night that they approved most December cases at the end of this month. USCIS appearing in my dreams now... :jest:

I've dreamt about our approval too!

They've already started touching the early filers (Nov. 1,2,3) as of yesterday. Right now only 7 days of November haven't been touched at all. I would hope that this means it won't be too long until the start December. Perhaps in a couple of weeks if they keep the rate up.

Hey there, by "touching" does it really only mean scratching the surface? So far when they actively work on the latest month, it seems like they are only working on 30-40% of cases for each date (based on scans/graphs/charts provided). Even if they start December, don't we still have like a 60% chance of our case being left behind and will only be worked on after they start the later months?

This is my concern too. Even though they're working on November now, there are others still in August, September, October waiting for their NOA2. So is it saying realistically, I might not receive my NOA2 until July or August? I don't want to get my hopes up thinking it'll be in a couple of weeks, when I may have a couple more months to go. :(

True and true. Realistic is a difficult concept in k1 visas as there is just no timeframe we can give you that is accurate. We can only give you averages and charts and make estimates based on that. It is up to you to decide to hope for the minimum, average or maximum time till Noa2. Up till now vj timelines have been pretty accurate overall but Yes, the average of 185 days can easily turn into 210 or the dreaded 300

Im sorry. I only now noticed I forgot to answer this.

Touching a case means they worked on it. It is used by us as an umbrella term for any action taken on a case. That can mean an rfe, update on birthday or name, or an approval. When we say 20% was touched we mean that 20% of the cases have had an action taken on them.

Over the last several months the average of touched cases went up before starting the next month. October had almost 50% touched before starting the new month. The months before that had up to 80% touched in the first two weeks of the new months. So the first two weeks of starting a new month is usually the busiest a month is going to get.

You are not left behind when they start a new month and you are not approved yet! It is perfectly normal. Do not panic untill they are at least 2 weeks into the new month.

Has there been anyone that received

there noa 2 from dec. filers?

I think there's one or two expedited cases but no regular ones yet. It's way too early for them to start december. I don't expect it for another 3 weeks

Unless I'm mistaken, your case is also "touched" if you submit a change of address.  "Touched" can mean anything from "almost nothing" to "NOA2", so, imo, tracking touches appears to only be meaningful for watching trends across months... touched-count doesn't seem to say much (anything?) about a single particular month.

Today I've been trying to decide what things I'm throwing away/donating and what I'm keeping to bring with me, and as I was cleaning, organizing and moving things it hit me really hard the fact that I'll be moving to a new different country in a few months. Like I know I'll be with my future husband and I'll be the happiest person in the world, but it made me a little sad to see all these changes, I don't know if it's just me. Anyways, I sat there for like 10 minutes just thinking and it was a weird feeling. Texted my fiance and told him about it, he listened and made me feel a lot better. It made me realize that huge changes are difficult and stressful and lonely sometimes, but it's all worth it in the end. Even though we get really trapped in this visa thing, we are real people, and we get to feel this way sometimes, and it's totally okay. It's okay to feel down some days, it doesn't mean we don't love our partners, it means we're sacrificing a lot to be with them and we're so strong for making such decision. And for those who are bringing their partners, you guys are so strong too, to make sure everything is under control and comfortable for your other half.

Hang in there everyone, we're so close!! Hope you all had/have an amazing Sunday and remember, we can do this! ;)

I think about that too for my fiance.  He has never even been on an airplane.  He will be leaving all he ever knew.  He doesn't seem upset in the least but I totally can imagine where you are coming from.

I'm sure he's a little sad about leaving his country, but nothing beats the love he has for you!! I bet he's super excited and will enjoy his first time in a plane ^_^
