Don’t worry about the timeline too much. October has bigger number of cases and they are moving forward, it’s just they didn’t catch as many vj members as previous months yet :) that’s why it looks long here on estimations.

especially right at the start of the week is usually bad because it looks like it stopped during weekends and Mondays are slow days.

they will start November soon and a big amount of October will get their approvals during these next two weeks. I’m sure it will improve a bit again ;)

Thank you for the motivation and support. I'm a bit restless lately. I have to give a month notice at the University so this all depends on the interview date in SA. I really hope that they will get October and bring the rest outstanding up to date before they start with November.

Nope they don’t care for beneficiary’s finances unless the embassy lets self-sponsorship and beneficiary wants to sponsor themselves.

Thank God for that. I am only a administrator but my Fiance are well sorted to sponsor me with all expenses. He will provide all documents to proof that he will be my caregiver for the time being waiting on Greencard and citizenship. He wants me to study a degree full time from home.

It has been jumping back and forth for a while now. It usually goes one down, one up, one down, another one down, one up, one down, another one down and one up again. So overall it's still going down, just fluctuating.

Besides. Its just an estimate. Who knows, you might get your NOA-2 on the 6th of June, or on the 26th. There's really no telling unfortunately.

I agree. To the look of October filers its impossible to tell which file they approve first. It does not look as if it goes in sequins with the application WAC numbers. I'm just wondering how the system works? Do they split the applications in categories and then work from there?

When are you guys going to apply for the Police Clearance Certificate?

I applied on the 5th April 2018. In South Africa it can take up to 3 months to get that document. I also applied for the NO IMPEDIMENT LETTER from Home affairs stating that I am single and never been married. It also take up to 2 months. I know that some countries does not ask this letter but I got it just in case. Don't want any surprises when applying for the marriage license and Greencard.

It doesn't go in sequences no. That way everyone would be waiting on that one case from June that hasn't been processed yet.

What I think they do is they give a chunk of cases to each adjudicator. They will riffle through them to see which ones are the easy cases and they get approved quickly, that is the first round of the months. After that they will go back and do them one by one. So if one is done with his pile he gets another pile, jumping from one date to another. And as with most office jobs, some people are faster than others. So if you're on the slowpoke's desk...

In the Netherlands the police certificate is only 3 months valid but takes 3 to 6 weeks to get, so its a fine line to walk. The way things are going now I suspect I will have my interview 6 weeks to 2 months after I get the NOA-2. So I will apply for the police certificate once the NOA-2 gets in.

Happy Monday everyone! Started this day contacting the doctor asking for the vaccines I need (I contacted them before and never replied) and I'm missing 2 or 3 of them, so I guess during the week I will take care of it. So there goes my arm...   wonder if somebody else is gathering stuff

Hope everyone is feeling okay and optimistic! And if you're not, cheer up, we're getting closer and closer. :jest:

I’m almost finish gathering the requirements - already have police clearance from my home country and overseas where I used to live. Just got done with photos (had to add our update pictures from our recent time together). Still working on compiling our chat logs seems easy but no it’s not it’s kinda time consuming.

Lets all be positive, we will get through this  with our much awaited NOA 2.

That’s what I noticed too it goes up down and repeat hence I stopped on looking to it lol. I totally agree on who knows when we will get our NOA 2 but having an estimated timeline date is something that gives us something to look at, so all we can do is hope we got the much needed approval as soon as possible

Hello, I already have my 2 police clearance one from home country (Philippines) which is valid for a year, the other is from another where I used to live (Jordan) also one year valid. I requested the Jordan Police Clearance beginning of Feb 2018 (based on my research processing it is approx 60 days hence I did it right away) also the Consulate here in Manila does not process it hence I had to directly contact the embassy of Jordan in Tokyo. Thankfully I received it in 45 days. Just got my certificate of no marriage 2 weeks ago. I hope the processing moves quickly coz I read that the clearances has to be not older then 6 months I’m a bit worried about my Jordan Police Clearance (by Aug it’s gonna be 6 months old) I would hate to again request and pay for it plus the courier. The local police clearance takes only a week to get a recent copy.

Alright. In regards to vaccinations and things.

What and when to take vaccinations

You need certain vaccinations to immigrate to the United States. The diagram below shows what vaccinations you need at what age. Depending on your country of origin, most people have already gotten these vaccinations. DTP/DTaP/DP does 'expire' after 10 years so most need to have a booster shot for that. So look through the diagram what you need and compare it with the records you have. If you do not have any records of your vaccinations you will most likely need to retake them all. You will get the missing shots at your medical.* However, getting a shot at your medical will be more expensive than getting it at your own physician, especially when needing more/all shots.

Flu shots are only required when flu vaccine is available.

*This is can depend on your country. As far as I heard most if not all countries work this way.

vaccines.jpg.bb29a3f4834de27a5f9b77a1df72141e.jpg

When to schedule the medical

Regarding when to schedule the medical. This is completely dependent on your embassy. Some embassies/medicals don't allow you to make a medical appointment prior to receiving your 'package 3' (all the information you need for the embassy stage). There could be a form or a paper in package 3 that you need to make the appointment. Most medicals however are scheduled based on your NVC number. So technically, when you got your NVC number you could schedule your medical.

But keep in mind that your medical is what determines the validity of your K1 visa. When your medical expires, so does your K1 visa. Most medicals are valid for 6 months, some only 3 months (if there are health issues). So if you make a medical on the 1st of June and don't have your interview until the 1st of august your K1 will only be valid for 4 months in stead or the regular 6. Maybe even 1 months if you have prior health issues. So getting your medical done (too) early is a risk.

sorry this is a dumb question...

so would this mean that i only need td/tdap, measles mumps & rubella, varicella and influenza since i'm 34 years old?

my next question is... i think i had my measles and mumps one before.. but have no way of proving it. all my medical records got destroyed when my whole house got flooded in a major flooded like in 2009. my doctor/pedia was really really old grandma when i was young and she's like really really really old now and i called the hospital and they said they didn't keep medical records that old anymore, or they could have but also got flooded. and then my grade school-high school  where i know i had some vaccine shots taken didn't keep records of vaccination they took for their students before. will they make me take it again?

thanks! i was always wondering about this.

One correction: if you do not have vaccination records, you can get (and should) a titer test. And depending on these results they will determine which vaccinations are needed.

in addition to that, if someone had chicken pox as a child they should tell the doctors verbally.

thanks naes! i appreciate it. i will look into that titer test. cause i called st. luke's (the one where we filipinos in manila have to go to) and the 2 staff members i asked didn't know the answer to those questions. i went on a mad hunt to try to recover my previous vaccinations from my old pedia and school but nada. and then the staff people i asked from st. luke's were soo unhelpful by not being able to answer my question and didn't know what i could do. i even asked if i did retake all the vaccines, would there be harmful effects if i've took them before or what? or if there was a way for them to find out my previous vaccines and they said not sure. so when little vixen post i was like.. great! and i should ask my question. hehehe. thanks!

There wouldn’t be any harmful affects (unless two live vaccines taken in too little time gap- I asked as I couldn’t find my records either)

Normally in japan they do the test at our clinic during the exam, you should also be able to find a place that does it. But I don’t really know how Philippines work...
