I-129F December 2017 Filers

We wrote N/A for anything that didn't pertain to us. They actually advise you to write something (N/A or None). Some reviewers will take an empty space as incomplete and might send an RFE to fix it. No point in taking that chance and accumulating more waiting time

If you filled out G 1145 form, then they will notify you via text and email. If not, then they will notify you by mail (letter)

I did not N/A any field that I feel is redundant/obvious, i.e. if they are already asked to fill out only if it applies to you and it was already made clear in a previous question that it does NOT apply to you, for example, name of previous spouse, name or prepaper/interpreter etc. I just mailed mine out on 20th so I don't know if I will be getting any RFE's. That said, if you want to be extra safe you can N/A or none anything that doesn't apply. Good luck!

Yeah it's hard to tell when we're just being paranoid and doing extra work vs. when we need to be thorough! Thanks for your reply! Looks like we're in for a long wait together here...

No problem! And I agree, but I've read from somewhere that historically less people file k1 in the winter months so if you file during the winter, it will take a shorter time vs if you file in the summer of the same year. Thankfully for me, I get to be with my boyfriend for at least the next 3-4 months of wait time so it won't be so horrible for  me. I am just filing in advance to cut down the wait time WITHOUT my boyfriend - because that's when it starts for me

lets hope that's true! the wait times are a lot longer then what it was a year ago when I went thru this same process. The less time the better for all of us  I noticed that there is a decline in numbers for mid November till now in the overall process time per embassy filers so crossing fingers

this is the link that I used to compare how many active/pending files per month and per embassy there are. it gives you a general ballpark # to see just how many people are active per month. Also you can use Igor's List http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?cfl to determine the same thing. Notice at the bottom of each month it shows how many filers per month - December is quite small compared to mid year.
