Hello December family! How are you doing? I was wondering how are you guys dealing with the wait... it's been almost three months since I last saw my fiance and I'd like to know how you are coping with this process. I'm trying to focus on the end result but some days are rough for sure. I skype with my fiance daily, however he is not the best at texting 24/7 and that creates problems:jest:. We thought we'd be able to wait until NOA2 to see each other, but we don't know how long this will take so maybe we'd sacrifice part of the wedding budget just to spend some time together...

I'd love to know more about your experiences so far!

Over here is the same, rough. Skype every weekend and texting every day, but it seems like it's never enough! It's been 3 months since I've seen my fiance too and it's gonna be a while until I see him again, it's torture :( but I try to keep myself busy and positive, even though there's bad days when I can't stop missing him. I'm sure everyone here can relate, it's so hard, but we have to keep in mind that it's all going to be so worth it!!

Hi everyone

How is the waiting going? Did anyone have any news or good news at least.

We're on 71 days now and waiting for NOA2. 3 months since I last seen my Fiance. (He visit me between 10 November 2017 and went back on 1st December 2017) I try to keep busy with studies, work, gym to get my mind off from the waiting fact. I must admit this is nothing but easy. We did realize that the K1 is a long process but we both knew for what cause we do this. For the sake of true lasting love.

Do you guys have days you feel down and really frustrated too? How do you handle this unsure waiting process?

My fiance and I filled on the 4th of December 2017 and got the NOA1 on the 14th December 2017. Now for the long and frustrating wait. We keep doing what we do and stay strong and motivate each other everyday. He lives in Jacksonville Florida and I live in South-Africa. Our time laps is out with 7 hours so it's hard on both of us but we want this and we feel very positive about our future together. Some days the waiting gets to me because I want to be with him with all my heart. I am ready for this change and can't wait to reunite with my love. We communicate daily with skype, whatsapp or email. We have a routine going that works for us. Basically when I get up for gym 4:20 am in the morning we talk a bit before he goes to bed. And then in the afternoon around 14:00pm in my time he gets up for work to start his day. We can only talk for hours on weekends but still video call everyday when he get up. Gosh this is hard. And when I go to bed it's like 14:00pm in the afternoon for him. I just want this process to speed up for us but hey all we can do is stay positive and keep the communication strong. Lucky for us we are very close and we share everything. I know he is the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. He is my Happy.  We both have this challenge to take our minds off things so we try to loose some pounds before the wedding. So each 2nd week we go on a fruit juice fasting. You wouldn't believe how refreshed your body feel after a detox. We have some hilarious moments that make us laugh and for that I am glad. It really helps if you both stay close and speak about your thoughts a lot. Don't let doubt or fear steal your happiness.

So tell me how do you guys cope with the waiting process ?

@Vintage girl Of course! I also have some days that I feel soooooo down but my fiance is always there for me. He said at least we're still on our way to be together and it's true!!

I would recommend you to hope for NOA2 around June-July which has high possibility.

If the things are getting better and better, we might get NOA2 earlier than we thought (maybe may-june?).

Let's imagine how happy we are going to be with our love ones can help us getting through this long waiting process. Cheer up! <3

I'm a December filer.

But I've already been waiting much longer than any of you.

17 years.

When I was a kid, almost 18 years ago, my elder sis won Green Card.

I was so happy, I thought we'd move to the US by the time I finish school in Russia. Such a perfect timing! Ready to start my new life as an adult somewhere in California.

I told everyone about it, thinking I have more chances to move to the US than anyone around me, and that it would be much easier for me to get a tourist visa.

Soon my sis met an American man who immediately became her boyfriend, so they moved to Kazakhstan where he'd been working in an American company.

They were traveling from country to country, crossing the border once in every 6 months.

In a couple of years me and my family received an invitation for their wedding in Texas.

I was beyond any level of happiness! I was so sure we'd have a journey to celebrate their wedding.

It'd been 3 years since the Green Card lottery then.

We went to the interview in another city and were refused in the tourist visa.

Even my mom was not approved, having a job, 2 kids under 18, an apartment and a car.

Nobody cared and nobody explained anything.

When mom tried next time alone, in 1 month, she only got another refusal.

Then there had been a couple of years with no sister around, only calls.

They stayed in Texas together, working in one company, waiting for our turn to arrive.

But when it was out turn my sis got a message that her Green Card lottery result had outdated.

Once or even twice she didn't cross the border in time or made some other mistakes besides that.

New countdown began.

I was finishing school when I was offered to study 1 year in San Francisco, but I got a problem with my health, and my mom was against it, thinking we'd immigrate soon, anyway.

She thought there was risk in "losing a year" when we could get our turn any time.

I didn't go.

And I doubt I'd even have a visa because now I know that because of having relatives in the US, I, oppositely, cannot go there.

I even made friends with the US Embassy secretary in Moscow (working as a translator for him at some conference).

He told me not to move, just wait.

It's been 7 years since the start of the waiting period when I moved to Europe, and that's when the big crisis began in 2008.

2 years wandering around Ireland, England, Greece, France... waiting.

Not knowing where and how to start my life.

Finding and losing jobs, applying to universities without opportunity to pay for education as a foreign citizen.

I married a 17 year old boy when I was 19.

We tried to start our life.

The marriage, however (I learned that later), didn't count as real. And wasn't supposed to interfere with my waiting for my family reunion.

Yet, by the time when our marriage got null, my family had put me as "married", and that's when I returned to another 0 point, for the 2d time.

That was mistake, I couldn't do anything about it, I couldn't imagine calling USCIS or a lawyer to ask for help and justify my "marriage".

By the time of my "divorce" I had been almost 21.

I was hoping to move out with my mom as an underage, her turn was  more than 7 years ago, when I was 20 and "married".

None of us thought I could go with her because of that "marriage".

I got the "divorce" at 21, and the files were renewed.

That's when my line met its 0 point for the 3d time.

I returned to Russia totally broken, unfinished education, no desire to start my life there knowing I'd move any time.

Because I didn't seek for help and an answer.

I was listening to my mom and sis who told me the lines were moving unpredictably.

I was told to wait for 2-3 more years.

When my mom got Green Card she applied for me (I suppose, if I understood that right), so the new line had begun.

I went though a lot of surgeries fighting with tumors (what would cost me too much in the US), keeping finding and losing jobs, working as an independent artist.

15 proffessions, 2 universities, 2 years as a flight attendant (didn't get a chance to fly to the US even that way).

2 years ago my old friend became my boyfriend. He's Russian, living in the US.

It'd been 15 years of waiting by then.

We started living together, yet, he had some stuff to sort out and divorce with his wife! That took them 1,5 years, lots of papers, crazy situations (e.g. 2 companies merged and didn't work for 1 month), with lawyers etc.

So, he was ready to apply in July but then there were other difficulties, lots of work and traveling.

We'd been preparing the documents for K1 for almost 2 months, hahah...

He lives half of year in total with me in Russia, another half - with his parents and going to the office.

And even now, when we've finally applied, the process has slowed down, this is getting ridiculously funny.

Hopefully, the situation will change and we won't have to wait longer than 6 months.

Guys, don't think you're waiting for too long!

I don't think I understand your question.

I'm waiting for my NOA2.

Meanwhile, my documents have been around USCIS for ages as a daughter and a sister.

My mom is waiting for her American passport.

You said you're waiting longer than any of us. For 17 years. So you had a relationship of long distance for 17 years?

Cause this visa for many of us here, to get to our loved one, our significant other. There are people with 15 year long distance relationships here too. This wait is not a wait for a green card. This wait is just the price we pay to be with the person we so unconventionally loved.

so your wait as you mentioned- the long wait- sounds like it was for the green card. And you are with your fiance apparently for only 2 years. So what makes your wait longer than our wait, if your relationship is 2 years?

I'm sorry for being blunt sometimes. I understand everyone is waiting. And that's a sad story. But it has nothing to do with anyone's wait here.

You made it sound like a competition, who waits the longest. Yes, you have been waiting to get into the US for 17 years, but how long have you been waiting to be with your loved one? This is not a battle of who waits the longest, this is about supporting each other through this process.

I hope the USCIS looks kindly on your case and does not see your 17 year battle to get into the united states as a red flag and questions your relationship.

My wait is for the reunion with my family, with those I love.

My fiance is now +1 person in the list of my loved once over there.

then probably don't start with the 17+ years part and with a line that starts as of disregarding everyone else.

I'm sorry you were apart from your family, I live apart from mine too, however those were apparent choices made along the way.
