I am so worried about mine. Is it normal we received NOA1 on December 20th and we didn’T receive our NOA2 yet?

hello all, we got our NOA2  earlier this morning.  Updated on new website only, no email or text.  Checked informed delivery and received the letter today also.

NOA1 old website Dec 21; new website Dec 26

NOA2 dated July 11.  New website updated status July 16 and letter received July 16.

Hoping everyone will get their NOA2 soon.  Good luck everyone.

I am so happy for you!

I’m just curious what makes you say “little” longer? When we look at November filers and see some there still waiting, who have security checks....there wait wasn’t a “little” longer, it was much longer. I’m just wondering for those of us still waiting, what hope/proof is there we are “little” longer and not one who will be like November filers waiting “much” longer. I guess I have lost hope about the “little” longer part and trying to prepare myself for “much” longer. I’m thinking we need to be patient much longer!!! But I have not been at this as long as you have or have as much experience as you.....just curious from your experience why do you write “little”. Lol maybe I’m trying to hope “little” is true....but still fearing the “much” longer wait and trying the prepare myself for it. Because it seems to me (I’m new at this, so it’s uneducated)....”we have been left behind.” Why is it they start January when they haven’t finished the other 50% of December? Doesn’t it seem more productive to finish what you started 😜. Then move on. And if you finish your task of December files, why not help the others finish theirs....so you can say you are almost 100% finished.....so what I’m thinking (again uneducated) is maybe they have finished December as far as they can go and the other 50% of us, our files need more time. So this is why they move onto January. And if this is the case, then we could be waiting “much” more time as ours go through more security checks, and COULD be waiting months before we get our answers since there is no timeline on a security check.

Well......maybe I’m making myself for anxious....I guess that’s why I gave up on the hope of “little” longer and that they are still working on ours because they are only 50% done.....I’m trying to think this may take much more time and because they have moved on to January filers....”we are left behind....but maybe it just means our files need more time.” It doesn’t mean we will be refused...just sit back and wait!

but....lol do you really think it is just a “little” longer 😜

I continue to express to you that "we are our own worst enemy" when it comes to waiting. Our mind keeps on working against us. Think about it. If you just went about your daily routine and checked when it was about your turn, based on others timelines you wouldn't add so much stress to your life. There are so many tools to calculate when your approval will arrive. You have a choice, drive yourself crazy or be calm while being a realist. I'm just trying to help you be a realist during what seems to be turbulent time for you and others. Everyone handles this process differently I get that. I am only pointing out a less stressful alternative.

i feel exactly the same with you guys with everything. i'm a planner myself... and these past few days have been devastating to like have no updates and all and not hear that many approvals for other december filers. but this week it's been busy, my grandma died and my uncle died.. so my mind's been busy with those and not to much into the k1 visa.. but yeah i kept getting much more anxiety as each day passes when we started to be in the red zone.

It's terrible to hear about your loss and I express my sincere sympathy to you and your family.

Hi Everyone,

That new policy is really a broken heart news for anyone who is still waiting. My finance worried that so much even we had passed this step  and she kept asking me to confirmed that the policy wont affect our process. I hope everything would be alright here.

Besides that what should I do after my NOA2 approved online? I did lots of research so far but not all information were consistent. I am confused.

Should I just wait at this moment until my case number get generated? How do I know that? Also, is there anything I can do in parallel now to start things ahead for future.

NOA1:12/21/17, NOA2 7/13/18.

The policy is not going to have any impact on K-1 or CR-1 applicants. None.

Wait about 10 business days to begin calling. So for you it will be July 27 begin calling. You really can't do much ahead of your interview except wait for the interview letter arriving from your Embassy. You can complete the DS-160 and submit it. Other than that not much more. Check your email once the case number is established and especially the spam folder for email from NVC and from the Embassy.

Thank you for your response....I thought I was checking when it is my turn. Hmmmm December 20....is it not our turn? I was basing it on other timelines 😜....January comes after December so it “seems” that they have moved on. The stress only comes from “thinking” it was my turn and not getting an answer when others did.....so then thinking we did something wrong....to now just thinking we didn’t do anything wrong, but maybe our file needs more time. Or maybe it really is at someone home or desk and the person doing ours is just slower. Well that’s ok 😜 we all work at different speeds, no need to stress about that. Like I said the stress was coming from “thinking” it was our turn and seeing them move on to January, but choosing now to not “think” little time, because it very possibly could be much more time. I guess that’s how I’m handling the stress...not hoping it’s “little”. Because that seems to make me anxious thinking it’s my “turn” and it’s not. 😜

It is your turn. But your turn lasts for a month or two. They will still be approving December cases well into January. It may not be logical but it is 'normal'.

Here is a less stressful mean of determine when it will happen.

Look below your picture in the left column and select "timeline" and once on the next page again near your picture you will see "follow similar timelines" so choice it and it will populate 12 other couples who are near your dates. Scroll down and you will see a "spreadsheet" style page showing all the variables for measurement. You'll see how long it is taking others. It's not perfect but it's the closes you'll come to what is the possibility for your processing timeline. It's a better mousetrap.

Today the waiting has reached to the 210th day. I am happy for those who have got their approvals or REFs. I hope that those like us who have not got any responses will get some news from USCIS. This is not an easy process. sigh....

I understand your frustration. It is hard when you wait to begin with, but it is much harder when your wait has no due date. For previous months were a bit easier because at least they have the old app that was updated everyday. People could see if there is any movement at all, but we kind of have been left with nothing. USCIS do little or none updates on old or new site now. We don't even know if they work on December in general, or they just moved on with January and now are concentrated more there. Based on my observation (just my observation) when they start a new month previous month it's slows down, which is not fair because they are only half way thru December. I agree system is far from being perfect, but we need to stay strong for what comes next. There is a light at the end of this tunnel we just need to wait thats it. It is good we have VJ where we can come and vent and just remind ourselves that we are not alone in this game. What I would consider is to write to your congressman, it would not hurt.

Eli&Brett, no I did not submit an inquiry.  But I was planning to as we were approaching the 215 day limit.
