hi! newbie here. filed our packet last week of November 2017, got NOA1 dated December 6, 2017 so I guess that falls as December filer. :) I'm the beneficiary, Filipina but currently living in Bermuda. Anybody who knows if the process is slower here since its an island?

My guess is you should look at how quickly the mail is in the area.

The only thing i would imagine to be slower only because its an island is the mail from and to the embassy/consulate

That would be great. Let's pray for some August dates this week!

Your prayer was answered :jest:, so happy for them.

Ok, another stupid question time. My fiancé and I were talking about jobs and he said it would be difficult to get one before I get my actual greencard. He thinks that most employers won't mess with a work permit. I never worried about that cause I figured an EAD would be enough. So I've been reading up on the greencard and can't really find a definite answer. How long does it take to get a greencard after you file AOS? I read that you have to get an interview first and that can take up to 200 days average. Some people don't get their interview for 2 years, others don't get an interview ever and can apply for a 10 year GC after 2 years of marriage. So, what if employers don't accept my EAD. How long do I have to wait on a greencard?

I've heard so many misleading things about this... some people that I know have waited around 8-9 months to receive their green card. I'd say filing EAD is a must, especially if you need a job to maintain your sanity (like me :) ). My friend got her EAD 4 months after applying and her employer had no problem hiring her (she's a banker). Honestly, I don't think we'd have problems getting hired with an EAD

I'm gonna post this here too in case you guys are interested ;).

I was curious about how a weekly approved cases graph (over the past few months) looked like, so I decided to find out.

Please, note that ONLY updated approved cases were considered, and that the purpose of this graph is just merely informative, not predictive.

And... the same for RFE'd cases.

As before, please note that ONLY updated RFE'd cases were considered, and that the purpose of this graph is just merely informative, not predictive.

Actually this one corresponds to RFE'd cases never (or not yet) updated to another status, such as approved. Sorry if it was confusing.

That sudden rise in RFE's from July is really standing out there, maybe a bit irrelevant but any speculation on why it occurred?

That's not a sudden rise but because the other months statuses already updated they are now approved or something else. So those rfes are the open rfes that are not resolved yet.

Thank you Daniel. This illustrates beautiful how they first make a sprint and then after about 25 to 50% is done move on to the next month. Great to see the big jump in Januari too when they started the July cases. Wonder if that has to do with people working through the holidays and the system only getting updated afterwards.

I was wondering about those RFE's too @Bunbunbunny

Nah you're way ahead than most. That chart was even confusing for Daniel to word as you can see him reexplaining.

unfortunately keeping all the data would cause a huge amount (and we don't have data from every single day) so only open cases can be shown.
