Hi guys,

I am in US visiting my fiancand today I received my work visa application package and booked the interview for when I return to Brazil.

Then he got home from work and had a letter in hand, our approval from USCIS. What a coincidence lol.

We will proceed with the work visa since is faster and my company wants me to starts soon.

I believe I will be back for good mid-August and we will be able to get married by September. :D

But I wanted to update the website so:

USCIS receive date: 12/19/2017
USCIS approval notice date: 05/07/2018

We did not receive any update from apps or website.

Good luck everyone!!

You should be very careful. You could get a misrep, which would make you get a 3-10 year bar for using a work visa to enter the US to later get married. If immigrations finds out that you entered the US with the idea of getting married here on a work visa you will for sure get a misrep. One thing is to come on a work visa and then meet someone here, fall in love, overstay and marry but in your case...you already know that you want to marry. So, be wise on your choice. Misrepresentation means that you lied or committed fraud to get a work visa knowing you intented to marry. Fraud or lying gives you a bar. They might also know that you are applying for the fiance visa and deny your work visa at the interview too. Be very careful because immigration is very tricky and you might end with NO work visa and NO fiance visa

I didn't hide the fiance visa in the work visa process. The company I work for knows about it, the law firm handling the visa knows since the beginning, and also there is a question in the DS-160 form about it and I was honest about it there too.
I won't break up my engagement because I got a new job or give up on my career because I'm engaged. So I hope they can understand that.
I did not accept the job just to get married but since I got it, I understand is okay to get married within the 3 years I am here on that visa.
Thanks for your worry, but I will have to trust the company's law firm handling the work visa on this.
