I believe it depends on the area code of the phone that you're calling from. If you're outside of the hours for your area, you probably are getting a "closed" message.

The hours of operation are listed here: https://www.uscis.gov/contactcenter

Ohhh I see.....thought it was for their time zone...not mine.

Could you tell me more about the work visa.....can my fiancé also file for a work visa so he can start working when he arrives or do we have to wait for the green card. I thought the latter was the case....but I’m seeing that can take 4-5 months. If he could work before this....it would be wonderful. Very curious about this work visa and the process. Thanks!!!

Hi,
My work visa was filled by the company I work for in Brazil and it is also in USA. It is a intracompany transfer visa called L1-B.
There was a position that I qualified for in the internal job market of the company, I applied for and got it.

It has nothing to do with the Fiance Visa.

I don't remember where I read this, but I believe you can apply for a work visa after the marriage. Im not sure though.

Good luck!

I’m looking for the number to call them.....do you know the steps to getting a live person? Thanks

When you call them on 1800-375-5283

Step 1: press 1 for english

step 2: press 2 for case status out of the option they will give you

step 3: press 2 again which would be an option saying “press two if you have lost or dont know what your receipt number is”

It will connect you to a person who you can talk to!

This is what i do to get to know my case status. Hope this helps!

You don't have to wait for it to be sent to USEM. The file will be there after you pay the interview view, complete the medical and complete CFO. Of course you will need a CENOMAR and NBI and if she has worked in any other country since the age of 16 for more than 6 months then she will need a Police Certificate from each. Your wasting valuable time where you could be shaving off 30-60 days but if you wait for it to be ready at USEM then you are wasting time.

Once you receive your case number it's time to be in charge of what time you choose when things get down. To smooth that trail for your I have a few things that will help you process your visa there in the Philippines.

Start by visiting Hanks site where he has taken the time and research, and of course it helps if you spent 8 plus years helping folks in the Philippines sub-forum get their visas, where he has listed each step. With those steps he includes the what, when and why to completing the item. Many have used the website and have had little or NO problems securing a visa from USEM.

http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

Next you'll want to connect with those who are processing through the Philippines in the VJ Philippines sub-forum that way you will be with like minded ppl who are sharing their experiences and also asking and answering questions. Since most in this thread are processing through another country they would be hard pressed to explain what is needed for the Philippines.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

You'll find this on Hank's website but I will give it to you early and that is the Packet 3 Letter for USEM. It's found here:

https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

Here is the Packet 3 letter.

https://ph.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/82/2016/08/K1-and-K2-Applicant-Interview-Preparation-Instructions-08112016-English-336KB.pdf

There you have it. Everything you need to get your visa. Good luck and smooth sailing.

Wait so I can have her start now with  the medical exam and and what else??

@x_driven_x thanks for all your efforts. Still touches my heart that even though we are lucky to have our approval, you still push forward supporting other people with daily scans. I’m sure the gratitude from other filers still waiting is hugely immense.

Thank goodness they went back to updating the old system too in order to allow such updates daily here for the thread. For Jake and I, we never got an update on the old site, still says received. Ours was on new system that took 5 days to update. Not sure if old site will ever update. Irrelevant as we have our approval letter.

Thanks again for all all the support you gave with these daily scans. And good luck to everyone else. I want every single December filer to have their approval day soon. The wait has been long, frustrating, challenging but totally worth it ❤️

Did you call and check with them? I did again and they told me they are behind and are working on it! 😔

@Veer Pal yes my Fiance called them, they won't reply to me. Our NOA1 is Dec 26th, so they say wait till 210 days are crossed :(

I have seen many approvals of my date and dates ahead of me, just hoping our day comes soon  _ I am sure you too fell the same and all others waiting. Hoping by end of this week everyone hears good news - you too @TogoAfrica :-)

I second this. Having these scans is such a peace of mind. If the old database hadn't been up I wouldn't know we'd been approved. The new site still hasn't updated.

Just read back to my posts from yesterday and the day before. I was a wreck too. I was complaining to everyone who would listen. Today I feel like I can take on the world!

Thank you for that lovely saying! I love hearing all the different sayings from around the world! Its amazing all the different people and cultures you meet here on VJ. It has really enriched my life.

Another saying I heard yesterday: the night is darkest just before the dawn. Your dawn is coming soon. Be strong!

You are absolutely right , the night is darkest just before the dawn - thanks for the support !!

Everything is predicated on your background checks, if anything was added to your record from this altercation with Immigration on your 2016 trip and what you say at the interview and how that is interrupted by the interviewing CO. NO ONE can tell you what your future holds. Having said that, I want to advise you to tell the truth, be confident in your answers, your answers should be short and to the point without rambling. Rambling will get you in trouble every time as it gives the CO more information in which to draw more information from you. You need to spend time thinking what your answer will be to the CO's questions when you are asked during your interview. Better to think about the answer now instead of in from of the CO with no preparation. They are going to ask you why you bought only a one way ticket to the States. They are going to ask why you planned this visit. There will be more.

The fact you were visiting your fiancé(e) in 2016 and subsequently when you lost your ESTA visa the two of you found ways of continuing your love for each other by visiting each other in your country and other locations can be a positive as it shows the commitment to each other.

One last item DON'T volunteer information; wait for the questions and answer only those.

Thank you very much for your answer! I take this device🙏🏼
