We received the letter in the mail yesterday and the RFE was because of my fiance passport picture.... I was already imagining that we forgot a document, or forgot to sign something, etc... it seems silly but oh well. We will send everything today or tomorrow so I'm happy about the fact that it wasn't anything serious.

Good luck to all of who are waiting still, seems like this week has been awesome in that regard. And congratulations to everyone approved!! So exciting :dancing:

FINALLY!!!!!!!

This may sound silly but what exactly are packets 3 and 4?  And what were packets 1 and 2?

From my understanding:

Packet 1 is the K1 application you sent out 6 months ago

Packet 2 I think this is the packet you send out to your fiance for his interview after you receive NOA2 (includes packet 1) (correct me if I'm wrong)

Packet 3 is the "Instruction Package" this is what the embassy sends out to the beneficiary when it receives the petition from NVC. you schedule an interview after you the beneficiary applies for the visa online.

Packet 4 i don't think there is a packet 4 for K1 visa, i think you just bring your passport and all the previous 3 packets, along with your passport???

Hey guys! I wanted to ask if I should be concerned that I still have not received my NOA2 yet. I’m at 196 days at the moment. I also want to know if they go in order based on the WAC numbers. The case before me got approved. So is it all random? When should I start making in inquiry?

don't be too concerned, some people are reaching 200 before they hear anything. you have to wait until 215 to really call. since your NOA1 is 12/29 you should be hearing something in the next week or 2 weeks.

So I did some chatting with an immigration attorney just to try to better understand why certain cases get worked before others...we are day 209 and still nothing. I was told that they actually do work in order however some cases take longer to get security clearance so instead of sitting and waiting they move on to the next and so on. He did say in his experience if its natrulized citizen filing it takes longer than an actual us born citizen since they have to pull the natrulized citizens archive and that takes longer to obtain to get security clearance...thought I share with you guys

Oh I partly believe that's true. However I've seen complicated cases get approved way before simple straight forward ones too.

Just hold on to the fact that every day is one day closer to your loved one. No one will get left behind.

215 Days and counting.. Had to finally fill out that Inquire about a case outside normal processing time from uscis and submit it.  This is very frustrating.

We have been waiting 202 days and cases before and after have their answers. It seems normal, some just have to wait.It seems normal, some just have to wait.

Well, I’ll be able to report on that one. My fiancé is a naturalized citizen, so there goes my hope of at least being within the 200 days, haha. Oh well, it is what it is...

Thanks for sharing!
