Hi everybody! We filed in December as well but when we try to put our receipt number in the uscis website it says invalid. Is there someone else too? I try not to worry about it since I've read that it's probably the website but still. Also, reading all of you was a big help, I'm finding myself more calm now that we're all in the same boat! haha :D

I heard someone called the USCIS to check on the case status and that went fine

They probably forgot to update the case onto their site (still trying to wrap my head around their ways, i dont understand how it happens)

Anyways just ring them and chances are they will be helpful.

Mine still isn’t working either and we got the Noa1 on dec 14. Not sure why. I asked my lawyer and he said that as long as you have the Noa1 receipt you’re fine. I’m going to call Uscis again in a few weeks if it still isn’t updated. I read in another forum that it never seems to work for some folks so I’m not too worried about it but would prefer that it worked. :)

I received mine on dec 15!! And I know, it bugs me because it should work! But I guess we have to keep calling to check if everything is fine. Hopefully they can figure it out if it's a problem with the website. We're in the waiting game now :)

Hello everyone below is a repost from August about the current situation;

-------------------------------------

So far (well normally) there is no movement for August.

However a few note to give would be, They are,by looking at the numbers and past trends, mainly working on July.

They touched (even though with small numbers) up till the last date of July,however we still need to see approvals to say the latest date is July 31.
 I am personally expecting  to see some small movements in August this week.
I'll be scanning every night my time and post when there's movement.
You will be able to check the movement next day instead of midday and full day scans.

Please do not use the scans to check your personal case status.
Use USCIS web site to check your case status.
(Due to TOS and privacy of people who are not even in the forum we are only posting the dates not numbers)
(We learnt through these scans that, USCIS does not go with the number but the dates to give an example to this,
WAC do not go in an order for dates - not totally- So when most lets say 7/16 is around the number 356xxx,
a few 7/16 can be at the number 432xxx -yes they even mix it with other months; however we realized without the number in consideration,
that person gets their approval with the number 356xxx cases too. Overall the number is of no importance )

NVC is almost back to normal with a few exceptions of some cases still waiting to get a number; however mostly it is in between 10 days to 3 weeks

Informed Delivery -if applicable in your area- is recommended.
 We have tones of approvals that does not get an online update!
Especially if you look below numbers the dates with almost no approval comes out to be the dates with mail only updates.

Monthly Overall
(*December has more cases than it looks in these numbers, because of an error on USCIS side, there are case numbers that gets a validation error,
Some people who has these numbers connected me however there is no way for me to add them.They also connected the USCIS and they don't seem to be able to do anything about it or well don't care probably...However, As long as you have your NOA1, and they can check your cases status when you call them there is nothing to worry about. They are not updating approvals properly anyway...)

How do you know if your case has been touched or not?

You can go to the USCIS website and make an account. If you check your wacnumber there it gives you a date it was last touched. Most people report problems logging into the site through phone though. Try a laptop or computer if you have trouble with verification.

Most cases have been touched on Jan 5 cause they were probably all put in their new digital system.

@Naes you are awesome!

Can you start to see some more movement. Like if its slowing or moving up? Or do we still have too little data to see a trend?

This week was too little data to tel the truth, however datewise it seems to be getter forward, we will see when August starts, hoping for this week, an August 1 case would be 190 days by uscis received date on this Wednesday. This week will show me if they're at least trying to keep the same timeline as july or it is still getting worse.

Ok, another stupid question time. My fiancé and I were talking about jobs and he said it would be difficult to get one before I get my actual greencard. He thinks that most employers won't mess with a work permit. I never worried about that cause I figured an EAD would be enough. So I've been reading up on the greencard and can't really find a definite answer. How long does it take to get a greencard after you file AOS? I read that you have to get an interview first and that can take up to 200 days average. Some people don't get their interview for 2 years, others don't get an interview ever and can apply for a 10 year GC after 2 years of marriage. So, what if employers don't accept my EAD. How long do I have to wait on a greencard?

That's right, and police records should be police clearance (learned that a minute ago XD)

Something irrelevant to this topic btw, how quick is the consulate in the Netherlands? Just wondering, I will hopefully be getting to that stage too at some point in the future

@Bunbunbunny; answering the question here in your 'home' thread, as it's more relevant here also for other Dutch filers (if there are any). The consulate is quick from what I've heard. We're not there quite yet. Our case was received by the Consulate last Friday (electronic case), I'm expecting to receive packet 3 this week (hopefully). From what I understand from Dutch filers before us, from "ready" till VOH is roughly a month.
