We're at day 213. It's really been taking a toll on our relationship since we hit 200.  My fiance is frustrated and crabby every day that we hear nothing and it makes me crabby too.  I did an online inquiry, which I think was pointless.  I just don't feel like we're that far outside the norm yet to be contacting a congressman, but he disagrees.  It's really hard when you don't have a date to look forward to and can't really plan. So tonight I'm doing some online clothing shopping for him so I can feel like I'm preparing for something.  It makes me feel a little better.  What are you guys doing to stay positive and nurture your relationship?

Yes it is rough. We are Dec 15 filers and have heard nothing . We are trying to stay calm and not panic. But it is becoming very frustrating

It seems as the months go by starting from Nov. the approvals are taking just a wee bit longer little by little. I panicked because my NOA1 was Dec 4th and watching all along I was expecting my approval by the end of May. Then November hit and everything slowed down. It was horrible.  I finally got NOA2 June 18 and all I can say is one second you feel despair and the next moment it's gone. Please stay strong. I know it doesnt help that the app and websites dont always update. I'm sure you all know about informed delivery by now. I'm praying for all of you!!!

NOA 2: 08 September 2018

Medical: 16 October 2018

Interview: 22 October 2018

POE: 10 November 2018 - Baltimore

Wedding:   :

Distance is no demon,

Often I think it can be a blessing for those in love,

a silent, underappreciated blessing.

It will have no power over us.

When you come stumbling to my door after months, with flowers and wine in hand,

I will be ready.

When I pick you up from the airport, the feeling will be unmatched,

that feeling like birds bursting in song from beneath my lungs,

that feeling unlike any other.

We have to stay strong and remember what is most important;

I love you, and you, me.

The air between us is nothing but a metaphor.

Nothing, not one thing, can come between us.

I'm glad you're finding something that you can do to take some of the stress off. I am redecorating my living room and bedroom. :D My fiance is coming from Africa so I'm trying to add in some elements that will make him feel more at home. I also joined a golf league that gets me out once or twice a week and keeps my mind off of things. I'm only a Dec. 18th NOA1 but now that I see those on and after my date being approved the anxiety has definitely kicked up a notch. My heart truly breaks for those that have been waiting so much longer than myself with no explanation as to why. I can only pray that the approval process speeds up for everyone.

Nurturing our relationship looks a little different... Network connection has never been good enough to facetime and for some reason the call quality and reliability has been very poor the last several months and because of this our communication hasn't been great which has been extra difficult. We mostly text lately and try to send encouraging thoughts, but it is hard to grow a relationship when that is your main way of communication. It makes me that much more excited to when we will finally be able to be with each other again!!

I knew I wasn't signing up for the easy path to love when I started dating a Ugandan, but even through the challenges and difficulties of the distance I know in the end we will be so happy when we are finally together! We will get there and it will be worth the wait!!!

Oh wow, only texting is really tough.  We video call every day and it's still hard.  Thanks for sharing and best of luck!

i know the feeling about texting/messaging the only source of communication. That's why when me and my fiance started dating we both agreed quickly that we would treat this LDR like any other face to face relationship with as much talking and face time like normal folks.....so we made a huge dedication to talk/see each other (video chat) 24/7 around the clock. It has helped A LOT with this whole process. What would feel like eternity with all this wait to hear something, feels for the most part bearable. Not saying its easy  - not at all, but being on the phone with each other, hearing our days together, interacting with both sets of families and seeing each other every day helps take our minds off things and draws us closer. And yes, for those who are wondering, we do sleep together on the phone or video chat, eat, shower, go to the bathroom (TMI I know...) but we closed the gap that would have existed with a LDR and brought our sides closer then ever! It's amazing   not to mention - we almost broke the world record for the longest phone call EVER - but good ol technology WIFI interrupted it. Otherwise we would have had our longest call yet of 64 hours! :D
