They don't need to be applied for with your AOS, but when you apply for them alongside your AOS you don't have to pay the fee (which are pretty hefty).

We all knew this was coming one day but it still feels like a slap in the face. The wait is hard enough and now we're left in the dark about what's going on.

I wonder if it has anything to do with people spilling their guts to a USCIS employee and mentioning this forum and the scans. I can't help being a bit bitter about people 'giving away' our 'secret' even though USCIS probably knew long before what was going on. Good chance USCIS doesn't even care about the scans and this has nothing to do with that. Either way. I'm sorry, I'm rambling.

Let's be positive. We still have Igor's list and with the help of all you wonderful people at VJ who fill out their timeline we still have a pretty good idea of what's going on.

Why would they care about the scans what's the harm? Maybe a new app will come out that can scan the new system. I'm so sorry 😩

Here is some information that you may or may not have on "where is my case".

Check your case status online with your receipt number. You can also sign up to receive automatic case status updates by email.

If you do not receive a decision on your case within the published processing time for the new service center, you may submit an inquiry online or call the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283. For people who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability: TTY 800-767-1833. When asking about your case status, please provide us with your receipt number and specify that your case was transferred to a new location.

If we send you any notice (such as a Request for Evidence), please read the notice carefully and follow the instructions provided.

If you move while your case is pending, you must inform USCIS of your address change. You may file a change of address on our website or by calling the USCIS Contact Center. It is important that you notify us of any address change as soon as possible, so that you continue to receive notifications from USCIS.

You can file separately, but keep in mind that there is a fee when filing separately from the I-485 for each of the forms. But, you will pay only one fee to file Form I-485, Form I-765 and Form I-131 together. The fee for Form I-485 is $1,070, ($985 plus $85 biometric fee), and there is no separate fee for Forms I-765 and I-131 associated with a Form I-485 when filed together. You are better off to file all three at the same time.

Hi @Greenbaum  thanks for your help as always. FYI currently the fees for I-485 is $1,225 ($1,140 plus $85 biometric fee) .

Thanks for the update. I wasn't aware it had gone up, but I don't really pay much attention to AOS. That is one steep increase.
