Source for the "supposed to prioritize K-1 visas. even on their own site.", please?  I'd like to read it. Thank you.

I think it's more like "should." US citizens fund the Department of Homeland Security, so petitions filed by US citizens should get priority over anyone else applying for a work visa, tourist visa, asylum, refuge etc. America first and all, right? :P Call up the White House and use their rhetoric to make the case for the president issuing some policy directives that are completely within his purview. It's one way they can expedite families being together that are going about things the correct way.

Just to play devils advocate, it is my understating that Work Visas need to be paid for and sponsored by US Tax Paying corporations.   And didn't the Supreme Court determine that corporations are people?  ;)

Everyone handles things in there own way.   Some like to get angry, some break out in hives, and some threaten to cancel their petitions, some post multiple times a day with how unfair the process is, and some sit quietly by and only post once they have received their approval.   I have seen all of the above behaviors in the last 6 months of waiting.

Although I am sure no one really cares , my personal strategy in managing my expectations for when my K1 Petition will be approved is to expect it sometime within 30 days of my submission date first being processed.   This expectation is set based on processing behavior I have seen during the prior 6 months of waiting and watching the other K1 progress threads on VisaJourney.

My personal NOA1 received date is 12/28.   It appears that 12/20 received its first approval today.  Assuming that USCIS keeps pace and advances one submission day per work day, then I expect that next Monday (July 2nd)  that 12/28 will begin processing.   (USCIS was closed on 12/23, 12/24, and 12/25).   @x_driven_x has been kind to volunteer his time to scan and compile the December progress reports for us, and I am thankful.  (Another source to monitor progress is Igors List)  Once his scans show that 12/28 has been started, I am sure my anxiousness will increase, but I know for a fact that all submissions from 12/28 will not appear immediately.   The reality is approvals and RFE's for 12/28 will likely roll out over a 30 day window.   It happens like that each month I have been watching.   ( I started watching in January.).    I personally will not even think of calling my Senator, Congressman, or even USCIS Tier 1 or 2 until the 30 days has passed.   My belief is that by doing so will only slow things down further for the people also waiting before and after me.   I know my approval will come when it is ready to come.

Here is an analogy that I think most can relate to....   After a long flight, it is like watching luggage come off the Baggage conveyor onto the carousel.   All those waiting for their bags were on the same plane, but someones bags are going to be the last to appear.   We all want our bags to be the first so we can leave the airport and go home, but that is just impossible.

One thing to be thankful for,  the forward progress this month has been pretty linear, so I think we can be thankful for that.   Prior months, especially November, have seen a much more random progression.

Well said! This process brings out so many emotions.  And it's easy to let those emotions get the best of us. Everyone's approval will come.  Even if it is the last on the "baggage carousel" (love it,  by the way!).

Hi all,

Just wanted to let those know who are still waiting to know that I just received an RFE in the mail, with no notifications or updates to the new/old websites. It was dated 6/21 (my NOA1 date on the old/new websites are 12/6 and 12/8).

I got an RFE for forgetting to check a few boxes. For those who have also gotten an RFE, how long after you send it back do you usually hear back about an approval? And also, I'm assuming I just check the boxes on the form they provided and mail it back?  Last question - the letter states "Submit your response to this request for evidence along with the attached blue sheet" but there is not attached blue sheet so I'm wondering if this was just a mistake on their part? What I need to do seems pretty clear cut but I just want to be 100% sure so that the process isn't prolonged any longer than it needs to be.

Thanks in advance for any help!

First read the RFE in its entirely. Then gather the information or in your case check the boxes and or what is requested in the RFE. Make copies of the new form and the RFE letter for your records. Return the packet back to USCIS using their instructions. Sorry that you ran into this little set back. Once they have it back it can take another 2-4 weeks to adjudicate your case. If you do not have a blue sheet then return without. NP

Thanks for serving up your opinion. It's a breath of fresh air. I like how you use the tools available to you and you compare your process based on the what "the history" has been during the processing. I wish more would do the same as it is an easy exercise and it gives you a pretty good idea where you are. I think it's a better way then what I have seen other do. I'll leave that last statement alone.

Good luck to all. You are going to get your approval. Just a little more patience. Trust the Process.

Good to hear ur planning for noa2. Get everything ready the best u can.

Whats hilrious is these people that that complain how long it’s taking aren’t the first ones that once noa2 shows up go ( I have no idea what to do now. Please can someone help me). When they have had 5 to 8 month so to do research and gather needed paperwork.

Even better yet, they have no clue what’s all involved with AOS and EAD. All they care about is the now.

So so much can be done in this time and people sit back and act like it’s a vacation. Then cry pity when there lost in space. ✌🏻

Let me tell you a little bit about our process for ROC (removal of conditions or 10y GC). When you file your ROC if you live to the left side of the Mississippi River your ROC was sent to California. If you live to the right of the Mississippi River you mailed yours to Vermont. We live on the eastern side of the MR and mailed  our packet to Vermont. Now during this time most cases were adjudicated within 4-6 months. Something happened, I don't remember what it was but Vermont got slammed with some visa work which moved to the head of the line above and ahead of ROC. California on the other hand process's their ROC work load around 6 months. So in our little VJ community we were wondering what's up with Vermont. Hardly any activity. We waited and waited months before we started to see some movement all the while those were from CA were approved and had left the group with a newly minted 10y GC. We were not approved until 14 months had passed. There wasn't much I could do about it so we waited patiently as we had been to this Rodeo before so we knew what to expect. It ain't over till its over.

So, this waiting is only beginning. That's why I always advise; Trust the process. Good luck.

Yup, I am a planner, possibly to a fault.   80% of our Packet 3 is already complete.    Vaccinations complete, single status complete, waiting for Police Clearance to be returned.   Only need to wait to complete the DS160, and prepare the I-134.  :-)

Once everything gets to the NVC, I will mail the Packet 3 to my Fiancee (beneficiary) for her signatures to send off to the Embassy.

My fiancé and I were talking about what’s we both need to do on our sides this weekend. We r still minimal 2 months out for our approval. Only thing she’s needs is arco (police cert). Already got her shots (jabs) done that r needed. She will be visiting end of August for 2 weeks and we will gather what’s left on this end for her to take back with her. Saves the scanning or mailing everything over to her.

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker here. Our NOA1 is December 27. I really appreciate everyone's support here while we all (try to) wait patiently.

Seeing all the talk about next steps, I'm feeling pretty comfortable about the affidavit of support, but I'm lacking info on anything about police certification, vaccinations, or medical exams. The guides here on VJ seem to say very little about that. If anyone has a recommendation on where to read more about it, I would be grateful.
