Ha! I'm following a case from each week in my app so I can easily run scans to see the activity. I just realized the downside of that...

I get the app notification when a case has been updated. I just received a notification for one case that got approved and I got really excited (even though I know it'd be way too early for me)! 10 seconds later a notification comes that an RFE was sent. Both different WAC numbers, both not mine. Whoops! Perhaps that's the downside of wanting to be in the know?

Big congrats to all those approved so far!

That's so funny! That's why I don't do it, I'd be way too excited every time I get a notification. Although not knowing makes me check the website every hour so that's not good either lol.

Hi Everyone,

I am a bit in the dark here and have to make a very important decision.

Is it wise to resign at the end of June even though not having a case number from NVC?

Is it risky to resign before the interview?

In my case they have to advertise my position and appoint someone before I leave so I have to give notice end of June.

I also have to take some of my leave for the notice period as they do not pay out our leave so it means that I will be done working on 6th July. I am not sure how long NVC will take and if I will get a interview before end July.

Any advice?

In my case, I am the beneficiary. What I did is I resigned already giving my employer just 2 weeks of notice since I been training 2 personnel as my replacement since January this year. Resigning for work after a decade is not easy.  But to be with my love is really the most important thing now as I miss him terribly. So I'm gonna be unemployed starting July 1st. :):):) . The advantage is that I can give myself plenty of time to gather everything that I need for my interview. scooting for my preferred church here in my country as we are planning for a church wedding after we settled my papers in the U.S.

So if you think that's the right thing to do from your end do it! after all, what's gonna happen in your life after that is what really matters. right?hehe

I'm just thinking positive that this whole process would definitely come to end and be together very soon....:D:whistle:

My fiance and I discussed it and we also think that a month before the interview will be a good idea to resign. Less stress on me when I go to the interview. I know I'm taking a leap of faith here but knowing that love will come through for us give me strength. I am very positive about our interview and I think that I should take the time and prepare myself mentally and physically for this conversion from my country to USA. I am so excited and I know in my heart it's the right thing to do.

The only solid advice we can give you is to not quit your job until you have your visa in hand. That's the only security you'll have in this mad rat race.

That being said. I just quit my job too. My office is in a really bad shape right now with my boss stepping down and two employees semi-permanently on sick leave. I needed to give my new interim boss the chance to hire a new person that could be properly worked in by me before I leave. The only way to do that is quit my job, else they don't have a legal ground to hire. I have been very open to everyone about the process I was going through and they have been very helpful. They agreed to let me resign as of November 1st with the possibility of leaving as soon as August 1st. So at any time between August 1 and November 1 my k1 visa is approved I can get on a flight and leave the next day.
