We are 14th December but nothing yet. We hope for good news soon. Would be great if destiny can open a door for us. Haven't seen my love in freaking 7 months. Praying for all of us this week. We are Dec 4th so we are at 197 days now. It's just a matter of time. I was curious if anyone knows, by the time you get an approval or RFE how much time has USCIS actually spent on your case? In other words does USCIS just pick up your file for the first time and get all of their reviews and checks done the same day?

There's no way for us to know this. I also think that depends on the case. If you have an 'easy' case (no previous marriages, no criminal records, curt and completely documented case, ect) your case will be easier to go through.

Hello everyone! We finally got the hard copy of RFE .

So, what they ask for additional evidence is just "Intent to Marry" of my beneficiary our lawyer thought it only needed during interview.

now we are sending in our response to USCIS. Another weeks of waiting for us again I hope it won't take long to finally get our approval and go on the next step.. :(:(:(

How bout you Az&Br you get your RFE hard copy???

We continually here from other VJ'rs who use lawyers, that the miss something or put their clients through a process that isn't necessary. To that end @Hank over in the sub-forum for the Philippines has put together a website that walks you through the process at USEM once you get your case number. He has compiled information for over 8 years of helping folks just like your self. This is an invaluable tool that many before you have used and it not only saved them time but insured they were properly prepared for the interview. SO MUCH information there that is golden.

Welcome to the thread. If and when you have questions post him. <insert elevator speech here> Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer.

If you look at the profile others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Using terminology such as "hubby" is a form of affection. I get that. But, using that terminology during  your interview causes the CO to ask additional questions and so it could have ugly consequences as in your case being denied. I'm only making this reply because others have been denied, but not all, when they present their love and affection with terms such as hubby or they have shared pictures with the CO that in the beneficiary's mind are of a family celebration but in the eyes of the CO they can depict something close to a wedding. Top that with "hubby" and you will be in front of the CO much longer then the "normal" 5 min. If you search VJ you will see many cases that didn't end well.

Just my experience.  Take it for what its worth.

The are still adjudicating your file while waiting for your response to the RFE. Once received and they have all their required background checks they will proceed to bringing your file to a close. Normally after receiving your RFE it takes about 2 weeks for them to finish if there are no further hiccups.
