So what you are saying is all responses are recorded on each "old" and "new" but RFE's only are on one of them. So if I don't have an RFE then it leads me back to "why check both" when one will do. Why do do when do will do? ;)

No, you never know which one will actually show the update on your case. So you’ll have to check both as they are still in transition period and some adjudicators update only old one, some only new one and some both 🙄 uscis it is lol

But I agree with you on people stressing too much over this process.. patience is a key 😜 nothing better than long distance relationship teach you that lol

Hi, looks like we are in the same boat.  Same days in old and new website and RFE.  Hope the letter arrives quick in the mail,  I am very curious as to what they want.    But as you stated,  happy that at least there is movement in our cases.

Examine that for a bit. So thousands of applications are being receive by USCIS everyday. To keep the files moving they must be distributed to a "clerk" who will begin the arduous task of getting all the background checks on both of the K-1 applicants. So they check the background for country X (for couple X) which has a less than desirable history of "problems" within the world. There file will need additional fact finding inquiry's.  So while waiting for Department XYZ to respond on Couple X's file said "clerk" picks up the next file (couple Z) and begins the task of the background check. Country Z is a much more "friendlier" neighbor to the world and their file is cleared before the other couples.

I hope you are still with me. Now to satisfy your model Couple Z would have to wait for Couple X to finish before they would get there case adjudicated to finality. I'm not sure that system is anymore efficient or equitable. Again, just my opinion. Am I wrong in my view?

No that makes sense that they should continue on but I should see something that they touched my application and are working on the background check.

Here is a tool to see others from your country and see where they are in the process especially those who are near your submit dates.

Go to the top blue ribbon and select "portals" and then along the left column scroll down to the last section titled "VJ (your country name) timelines. Select K-1 and out populates a chart with all those from your country and you can then see where you are in comparison to others.

Thanks @Greenbaum, I've been trying to find a way to view this information here and this is exactly what I've been looking for!

I do get both what you and @JayHouser are saying. I understand what @JayHouser is saying but if I take my own received date for example 12/26 and there was say a lot of background checks submitted by the ‘clerk’ that day for this particular day (12/26) for instance....

I know i’d be pretty upset if I had to wait for Couple X’s background check due to this couples beneficiary being from a high fraud country, therefore possibly requiring additional screening. On the other hand, the UK is a low fraud country so easy to gather easy valid checks, (so pretty much Couple Z in the example). So my point I guess is why should Jake and I have to wait longer to get adjudicated due to waiting at the mercy of countries for other couples that require additional scrutiny due to their geographic locations (for being a country I don’t even live in)!! I hope that doesn’t come across either rude or disrespectful.

However wouldn’t it be an ideal world if all applications were processed in consecutive order?! However, not possible! To our many variables.

Never heard a number before as to when you will get blocked. But for the life of me, I really can't see the reason for taxing the system to get a date. Getting it today, tomorrow or the next day seems counter productive. Just my opinion.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I'm just hoping that checking around four times in a day isn't too much! I've been a once-a-day checker before now, but my godlike patience has run out and I'm surrendering! ;)
