Hey guys, I have two questions:

1. How long does it take currently from NOA2 to Sending package to embassy?

2. I know I can’t work for American employer while waiting for work permit. But is it possible to work for an employer from my country until I’ll have work permit granted? I mean like, working remotely for my current company while being in the US and then when I’ll get work permit I’ll quit and start looking for a job in the US. Is it legal or is it something like a grey zone?

Thanks for any help fellow applicants😊

1) About 2 weeks, on average, but can take 30 days or so too

2) No. You aren't allowed to work at all, in any format.

THere are several sources that must looked at in whole.

https://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/working-us

1) You must have a Green Card, EAD, or a work related visa to work in the US

2) "Nonimmigrants enter the United States for a temporary period of time, and once in the United States, are restricted to the activity or reason for which their nonimmigrant visa was issued."

This means unless you have a visa that allows you to work, you are not allowed to. K-1 visa is not a work visa.

You do not become an immigrant until your adjustment of status, and therfore the quickest you are allowed to work on a K-1 visa is once the EAD has been issued.

Then, as far as working in the US for a foreign company goes.... here is a blog post about that has some sources in it

Hello again ! Question: now that we have our  noa2, i have a visitor visa to the US, can i still travel to the US even with noa2? Would that be a problem? It will only be a 4 days trip.

Yes you can, but have a copy of it and other ties with you just in case. Basically it is no different than having a noa1 and travel.

Thank you Naes, with the noa1 I was able to visit him twice this year, March and May. I was just not sure if noa2 has a greater impact.

I really don’t think there is much difference as I know people who did this too. I’ve never been asked once when I tried to enter so I don’t think noa1 or 2 really matters. As long as you have your passport with you.

they may always scrutinize, but as you travelled before you already know that. For me telling them “fiance” made it actually easier than when I said “boyfriend”

Hello! Not sure if this is the appropriate place for this question, my fiance is from Germany (NOA1 Is December, 8 2017 according to the new website) but is living in England. We are awaiting for the NOA2 hopefully by the end of the month. On the I-129F petition I put down London Consulate instead of Frankfurt. Was this accurate? Is the consulate meant to be based on place of residence or nationality? Thanks for your help!

My understanding is that they pretty much always send it to the closest consulate that processes K-1s to where your fiancé(e) lives currently regardless of which one you put down on the form. At least, I've read multiple posts here of that happening even when it really wasn't what the couple involved wanted (because the beneficiary would be moving before the petition was likely to be approved or something like that).

So... Last month my fiancee reported a change of address to the USCIS for the I129-F petition.

The site said she would hear back from them around the 9th. We haven't heard back from the USCIS, nor does the old site show anything about a change of address for our case.

Later today she will create an account for the new site, but has anyone got an idea of what to do about this?
