The people of Mn knew Franken was a disgusting wacko when they voted him in. Look at all the things he has said and done in the past. I am not surprised about his behavior at all. That said….allegations are now enough to get rid of him? Sure there is one picture where he was disrespectful of a woman….but thats not sexual assault. A very slippery slope where all one needs are some allegations thrown against them….and you are done.  I thought there was going to be some type of due process? an ethics hearing? concrete evidence?

 

I lose no sleep over his "resignation" and I do believe he is part of the swamp…..but I prefer law and order…not witch hunts.

I think there is a sense around that what usually only applied to the little people is now hitting the swamp.

Did anyone go back and listen to what Al Franken said in his speech?  Did he ever really apologize?  To me it sounded like he said that all women when making sexual assault allegations must be believed, except for the ones making such allegations about him as they are either liars, or have failing memories.

I didn't listen but I did read that he didn't really apologise for all of it (any of it? Not sure). 

 

Also while I agree with him about Moore/Trump, him calling it out in that situation is a little childish. Bad behavior from others doesn't excuse bad behavior from you. And just because someone else hasn't been punished doesn't mean you shouldn't be.

Mom always said two wrongs don’t make a right.  It will be interesting to see how things go next week after the Alabama election.  It could be that if Moore wins, he will be pressured/paid to give up his seat so the Alabama governor can appoint a new senator.  It is also possible that he stays, and Al Franken changes his mind and they can form a caucus together.  As to Trump’s famous hot mic item, go back and listen to him, did he say he was doing this, or was he speaking about powerful entertainment and journalism men and what they do which seems to be the case given the likes of Harvey W., Roger A., Matt L., Charlie R., etc., which it seems almost everyone was aware of.

Well when we talk about Trump the hot mic is only one part. We also have the almost one dozen women (or is it more now?) who have accused him.

 

Absolutely he was talking about media people. He was including himself in that group.

That is a possibility, then again it is also a possibility he was talking about people like Matt Lauer.  Trump was at the roast after all that Pretty much showed how Matt Lauer really was.

I guess it's been awhile since I heard it. Didn't he use the one "I" while talking? I don't recall it being all in 3rd person.

 

It's pretty, but people seem to be freaking out. There is hardly anything and yet i see people trying to snowball fight.

 

My last year in NYC we for around 2-3 feet outside my apt (6 feet once the trucks pushed the snow to the side). Sledding in Central Park was a highlight of my time there. Don't think I'll manage to do anything similar in Memorial Park
