Auto insurance is a bit of overkill, he isn't there to drive.
Life insurance is fine as are wills.
CC may not work to add him.
Adding you to his bank account and property ownership would help if that is possible, then use the bank account when there too.

Cool! We will work tht out when i get here....thnx so much.

One suggestion. Instead of waiting for the letter which could take months to receive, contact your state Senator or Congressman and ask them to email the embassy on your behalf. They might be able to get the specific reason you were denied and quickly. We had our answer within a week, which allowed us to move forward with planning a wedding. I am guessing they are going to say something along the lines of "they had a traditional marriage and therefore don't qualify for a K1." Once we found out, I canceled our K1, we got married and about 4 months later our CR1 petition was sent in. Right now the process is taking 12-18 months, so I would recommend working quickly to avoid longer separation.

12-18 months from when u file to the interview?

Thats our plan a civil wedding. We are no way near keeping up, it just hurts because he tried to do the right thing. I love him and will fight to get him close to me. Hes my world and hes all i got. Everything happens for a reason. I just cant stop the tears from my eyes. 😢

I definitely  understand how your feeling we were also denied K1 last year April. But we did a wedding at the registrars office then a couple of days later did a traditional marriage and reception, which was pretty inexpensive. I would just say stay encouraged  and you guys will be together soon. We are currently at the NVC stage and I am in ghana now which would make my 5th trip in 2 years. I was able to speak with Congress woman who contact embassy and had a response stating that we had a "sham" relationship and should get married and that they will  let petition expire. Best wishes☺

Not yet, his interview was just yesterday Dece 6. Yes! We are going to get married after getting the denial letter

The denial letter usually comes months after the interview. Ours came 6months after the interview. My then fiance came to Nigeria the following month to marry me,went back to file the cr1. We were already 2months into the cr1 before we got a call from USCIS&my now husband told them we are now married and already filed the cr1. One month later,my husband got the letter in the mail.

You can come home to marry your husband legally and file the cr1 provided the i129f petition have expired because ours expired on May 10th while my husband sent out the i130 package on the 15th of May.

It's not easy but you dont have a choice but to refile.

Good luck on your new journey..!

Right now, we are waiting to hear from the congresswoman as to how he was refused the visa. After that ill fly to ghana marry him and withdraw the i129f then file for i130. Question: Should we wait for the letter to come before filing cr1? Or withdraw the I129f then get married?

When was your i129f approved? Go ahead and marry your fiance. The i129f expires 4months after approval. So there's no need to withdraw or cancel the petition since it will be expired when you file for the cr1.

Our was approved on Jan 11th 2017&our petition expired on May 10th 2017(its written in the NOA2). I went for my interview on March 14th 2017,was denied,my now husband bought a ticket to Nigeria that same day then i started the process here in nigeria before he arrived to ease everything, then he arrived Lagos Nigeria April 13th 2017,we got married April 20th 2017,he went back to the U.S. May 1st 2017 with all the paper work, sent out petition on May 15th 2017&uscis received it on the 16th gave us our case number and received it(NOA1)in the mail after some days.

3months into the cr1 process,USCIS called my husband then my husband told the officer we were already doing the cr1,2- 3weeks later my husband received the letter(dated Sept 6 2017) in the mail saying we were granted the k1visa.

Now we are awaiting our NOA2 from Texas cos we had a RFE in Nov.

Tell your fiance to start the preparation before you come in March to make things very easy for you guys.

Your noa2 was on Sept 5th 2017 from your timeline so your petition should expire in Jan 4th 2018.

You can marry in March 2018 return to the U.S. and file the cr1 immediately meanwhile tell hubby to start preparing the sworn affidavits of bonafide marriage from 3rd parties and from both of you as well as other documents you can use to support your case.

Good luck on your next visa journey..!

It was approved 9/5/17 but on the letter shows it will expire December 31 2017. Anyway we are already planning for the wedding in march. I was a little concern that getting married without getting the finial refused letter will cause problems with our cr1 case. Am also getting ready with our supporting documents. Please keep me posted with ur journey. I might have some questions God bless!!!
